Seolleung Chinese restaurant with private group rooms: Mirim Yangjang
In short
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is a Chinese restaurant and bar on the basement level near Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two of us ordered a half Peking duck on a same-day booking, plus fish-fragrant eggplant, garlic scape pork stir-fry and stir-fried egg noodles, and the duck came with crisp skin and tender meat. Book ahead and Mirim Yangjang also opens its private group rooms, which makes it a solid choice for a Gangnam work dinner.

If you've ever searched for Peking duck in Seoul, you probably know the feeling. Peking duck isn't the kind of dish you can just walk in and order anywhere — usually you need to book a day or two ahead to get it properly.
I love Peking duck, so I get cravings sometimes, but the fact that you always have to reserve in advance was honestly a hassle. This time, though, I found a place where you can order Peking duck the same day, and that's what won me over. It's Mirim Yangjang in Seolleung.

What I liked most was being able to reserve Peking duck the same day I wanted it. There's also a wide range of other Chinese dishes on the menu, so my friend and I had plenty of options the day we visited. And since you can book a spacious group room in advance, I thought this place would also work well for anyone looking for a Gangnam work dinner spot.

Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch: a Seolleung Chinese restaurant that takes same-day Peking duck orders
Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is a place where you can order Peking duck the same day. It's located in the basement level on Seolleung-ro 86-gil, which made it convenient for meeting up near Seolleung Station.
They say Peking duck takes a lot of hands-on work — properly preparing and roasting the duck takes time, and getting the skin crispy isn't easy either, so it's not a dish you commonly see at every Chinese restaurant. I assumed booking in advance was standard if you wanted Peking duck, so the fact that Mirim Yangjang allows same-day orders made it much more accessible.
Of course, it's best to check ahead depending on the time and circumstances of your visit, but having the option available on a day when I suddenly craved Peking duck, like I did, turned out to be a pretty big plus.

If you're making plans near Seolleung Station, the location is convenient, so it's worth looking up as a Seolleung restaurant or Seolleung Station restaurant. Since there are so many offices around Seolleung, plenty of people are looking not just for lunch but for a dinner spot for work gatherings too.
Mirim Yangjang isn't just about Peking duck — they also serve hot pot, lamb skewers, sweet and sour pork, mala tang, mapo tofu, kkanpunggi shrimp, gurogyuk, fried eggplant, yurinji, and deep-fried shrimp toast, so it looked like a good spot for a group to each pick something they like.

What two people ordered at Mirim Yangjang
- Half Peking duck
- Fish-fragrant eggplant
- Garlic scape pork stir-fry
- Stir-fried egg noodles
That's what we ordered. The stir-fried egg noodles came through a Naver reservation review event. I thought it might be a bit much for two people, but with Chinese food, once the dishes start coming out one by one, somehow you find the room for it all haha.

The main event: half a Peking duck at Mirim Yangjang
I'd actually tried several kinds of duck before this, but personally, the Peking duck I had here was the best I've had.

The best Peking duck I have had so far
The moment the Peking duck arrived, the first thing that caught my eye was the skin. I think the whole point of Peking duck is getting the skin perfectly crispy, and here it was truly crisp, savory, and full of flavor. It felt completely different from just eating regular grilled duck.

We put the duck on thin wheat wraps along with mild scallion strips, cucumber, and sweet bean sauce, and the combination was really good. The scallion cut through the duck's richness cleanly, and the cucumber added crunch, so I kept reaching for more. Dipping it lightly in the sauce and rolling it into the wrap brought several flavors together in one bite, and it was better than I expected.

What surprised me most while eating the Peking duck was the texture of the meat. I expected duck to have that distinctly chewy or firm texture, but the meat here was genuinely tender. The first bite made me pause and think, 'Is this really duck?' — that's how soft it was.
The skin was crispy and rich in flavor while the meat was soft and savory, so getting both textures at once was really appealing. It was clearly different from any duck I'd had before, and I finally understood why people go out of their way to seek out Peking duck specifically. Of everything we ate that day, the Peking duck was by far the most memorable.

Fish-fragrant eggplant, the dish I could not skip
Peking duck alone felt like it wasn't quite enough, so we also ordered fish-fragrant eggplant (어향가지). I like eggplant dishes and often order fish-fragrant eggplant or fried eggplant when I go to Chinese restaurants, and here too, the rich Chinese-style sauce paired perfectly with the soft texture of the eggplant. When eggplant soaks up the sauce, it turns moist and tender with a real boost of savory flavor.

It goes well with rice and also works as a drinking snack, so if you're visiting with a group, it's a good dish to order and share. Since Peking duck is light and savory, having something with a richer sauce like this in between kept the meal from feeling one-note, which I liked.

Garlic scape pork stir-fry, made for eating with rice
We also ordered garlic scape pork stir-fry. The distinct aroma and crunchy texture of garlic scapes go well with pork, and stir-fried dishes like this taste even better with rice. Having the garlic scapes mixed in gave it more texture and cut the richness compared to eating the pork alone, so my chopsticks kept going back for more.
It had a completely different feel from the Peking duck, so it was a good order to add when the two of us wanted to try a variety of flavors. Sometimes at a Chinese restaurant you end up ordering just one dish and one noodle dish, but this time we ordered a variety and shared small portions, which made the meal more fun.

Stir-fried egg noodles from the Naver reservation review event
Lastly, we had the stir-fried egg noodles that came through the Naver reservation review event. Noodle dishes are always a nice way to finish a Chinese meal. Even though I was pretty full after all the other dishes, I still found room for the noodles haha.
The stir-fried noodles had that classic savory, slightly salty flavor that paired nicely with the other dishes. If you're visiting as a group for a work dinner, I think ordering several dishes and adding a noodle or rice dish at the end would work really well.
Is Mirim Yangjang good for a date near Seolleung Station?
I originally visited for the Peking duck, but as we ate, I realized this would also be a great date spot. Seolleung has a lot of office workers, so weekday evenings see plenty of work dinners, but it's also a good place for two people to order a variety of delicious Chinese dishes and share.
Peking duck isn't something you eat every day, so it feels like a good choice for a night when you want something a bit more special than an ordinary dinner. It's a nice pick if you're out on a date in Seolleung and want something delicious, or if you feel like eating something a little different from the usual. And most of all, it was convenient that you don't have to plan days in advance just because you're craving Peking duck — same-day ordering is possible.
Looking for a private room in Seolleung for a Gangnam work dinner?
Peking duck was the most impressive thing about Mirim Yangjang, but the range of menu options was also a strength. With hot pot, lamb skewers, sweet and sour pork, mala tang, mapo tofu, kkanpunggi shrimp, gurogyuk, fried eggplant, yurinji, and deep-fried shrimp toast, there's plenty for a group to pick something for everyone.
They also have space for group seating, which I think would suit anyone looking for a Gangnam work dinner spot. Seolleung has a lot of offices, so plenty of people are probably looking for work dinner venues or room-style restaurants — if you're tired of the usual barbecue or Korean restaurants, it could be fun to try a Chinese restaurant with Peking duck as the main event for once. Even someone trying Peking duck for the first time can enjoy the novelty of wrapping it in a wheat wrap with scallion, cucumber, and sweet bean sauce.

When you want a special Chinese meal in Seolleung
This visit to Mirim Yangjang left the Peking duck really memorable for me. I especially loved the combination of crispy, flavorful skin and tender meat, and wrapping it in a thin wheat wrap with scallion, cucumber, and sweet bean sauce was the kind of flavor that stays with you. Peking duck is a dish I always hesitated to try because of the reservation hassle, so being able to book it same-day was a real plus.
Visiting with a friend and getting to try half a Peking duck along with fish-fragrant eggplant, garlic scape pork stir-fry, and stir-fried egg noodles made for a satisfying meal overall. And with group seating available, I think this place works well not just for a casual meal but also as a Gangnam work dinner spot or a Seolleung restaurant with a private room.
If you're in Seolleung and want something a bit special instead of the usual dinner, or if you're suddenly craving Peking duck, Mirim Yangjang is worth checking out. Next time, I'd like to try some of their other Chinese dishes too, like lamb skewers or sweet and sour pork.

There's a private group room space, which looked good for family gatherings or work dinners too.
Eating quietly as a duo is nice, but since you can also book seating for a larger group in advance, it seemed like a low-pressure option for visiting with several people too. Seolleung and Gangnam have no shortage of restaurants for work dinners, but going to the same barbecue or grilled meat place every time can get a bit tiresome.
In that case, choosing something less common like Peking duck for a work dinner could make for a nice change of atmosphere. So personally, I'd recommend Mirim Yangjang to anyone looking for a Gangnam work dinner spot. You could go with Peking duck as the main dish and add lamb skewers or sweet and sour pork, and for anyone who likes spicy food, ordering mala tang or mapo tofu alongside works too — so it's easy to satisfy a larger group with varied tastes.
