Weekend lunch set with seafood pancake at Dangsan's Cheongun Bossam
In short
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a bossam (boiled pork wrap) restaurant a 3-minute walk from Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, and its lunch sets can be ordered on weekends too. Visiting with her mother, the writer ordered the bossam set, the spicy octopus set and a seafood pancake, alternating between pork belly and pork collar bossam and the spicy octopus bibimbap so neither got boring. Cheongun Bossam is a good pick for a weekend lunch when bossam alone feels like too little and you want several dishes to share.

Where is Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch, and what are its hours?

It was a busy Sunday from the morning, so I went to Cheongun Bossam near Dangsan Station to have a hearty lunch with my mom.

I was trying to figure out where to go for weekend lunch and ended up craving bossam (boiled pork wrap), so I stopped by. The place was bigger than I expected, with plenty of space between tables — it looked like a good spot for a family meal too.

Lunch sets on weekends too, with 3,000 won off takeout
I walked in and scanned the menu board carefully first. At Cheongun Bossam, ordering the bossam comes with either clam kalguksu (noodle soup) or platter-style kalguksu included, so the set felt pretty substantial from the start.

What I liked most was that they offer lunch sets even on weekends! And if you order takeout, you get a ₩3,000 discount — good to know if you're planning to take your food home.

There's also a self-serve side dish refill corner

Since we came for lunch, we could order set menus at reasonable prices, which made choosing easy. My mom and I felt like ordering just one dish would be a shame, so we ordered the spicy octopus set, the bossam set, and the seafood pancake.

Bossam set: half pork belly, half pork collar
The bossam set is of course the dish you can't skip at Cheongun Bossam. The pork came out warm and ready to eat right away, and paired with the side dishes it made for a really filling meal. The meat wasn't dry at all — it was soft, with a half-and-half mix of pork belly and pork collar (gabrisal).

Bossam is better with kimchi or side dishes than eating the meat alone — with them, it wasn't greasy at all and I kept reaching for more.

Spicy octopus set served with vegetable bibimbap
The dish that surprised me the most was the spicy octopus set. Instead of just the octopus on its own, it came with bibimbap (mixed rice) loaded with vegetables, which made it even better. You put the octopus on top of the rice, add the sauce, and mix it all together — the spicy octopus and vegetable bibimbap went really well together. It was filling enough to be a satisfying meal on its own.

The octopus was seasoned spicy, which paired well with the rice, and the sauce wasn't overwhelmingly strong, so I kept eating more. The bossam was mild and savory, a completely different flavor direction from the octopus, so alternating between the two actually kept things from getting boring. If we'd only ordered one dish, it would've felt like something was missing — I was glad we ordered both.

Adding a seafood pancake to the weekend lunch table
Adding the seafood pancake on top made our weekend lunch spread quite generous.
Cheongun Bossam's seafood pancake, cooked crisp, was great to eat alongside bites of octopus or bossam, and splitting several dishes between the two of us let us enjoy a variety of flavors.
When eating with my mom, ordering several dishes to share feels more fun than each having one dish to ourselves. Cheongun Bossam has a fairly spacious dining room, so it seemed like a good spot for family outings or gatherings too, and being able to get lunch sets even on weekends was another plus.

Which combination should you order at Cheongun Bossam?
If you're looking for a weekend lunch spot near Dangsan Station or craving bossam, this is worth a visit. If bossam alone feels like not quite enough, I'd recommend adding the spicy octopus set or the seafood pancake to share.

By the time I finished the sets and the seafood pancake, I was already too full to try the review event. But if you like rice balls, there's a review event running, so it's worth keeping in mind when you visit.
After a busy Sunday morning, I left feeling well fed after picking and choosing dishes with my mom. Since lunch sets are available even on weekends and you get a ₩3,000 discount for takeout, Cheongun Bossam is worth considering if you're near Dangsan Station and looking for bossam or a solid lunch spot.
