Cake reservation pickup at Shinsegae Gangnam's Sweet Park: Chef Cho

If you're into cakes piled high with fruit, you've probably heard of Chef Cho cakes haha. It's such a famous spot that reserving ahead is essential! I reserved mine in advance too and picked up a cake at Chef Cho in Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam 🍰 If you love cakes loaded with strawberries or peaches, I really recommend this one~ 👍

Where is Chef Cho in Shinsegae Gangnam? Inside Sweet Park on B1

Chef Cho is on basement level 1 of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam!

Just follow the signs for 'Sweet Park' / 'House of Shinsegae,' and you'll find Chef Cho inside the dessert section of Sweet Park at Shinsegae Gangnam. But there are so many dessert shops on B1 that first-timers might get a little confused lol. I was wandering around looking for it too 😂 I'd recommend checking the location ahead of time!!!

Chef Cho's display cakes and the size options

The moment you walk in, what catches your eye is of course the cakes! Looking at the ones on display, the fruit was piled on without any restraint haha.

From cakes heaped with strawberries, peaches and other fruit to slice cakes sold individually, it seemed like a great place to pick and choose as much as you want! Each cake looked so mouthwatering 🍓🍑

Chef Cho runs three locations — the Mullae flagship, Bread Company Chef Cho, and Chef Cho Boutique — and I heard it was also featured on the show Masters of Living.

There's a wide range of cake types, and sizes go up to Mini / No.1 / No.2 / No.3 / No.4 / No.5 / No.6, so you can pick whatever size suits you.

Since I had reserved ahead, I was able to pick up the cake that was already prepared right away!

What I ordered was the Peach Berry No.1 size! 🍑🍓

The cake came packaged beautifully in a box with a window showing the cake inside! Since my place is fairly close by, I skipped adding an ice pack and carried it straight home. Seeing the cake peek through the box the whole way made me want to open it early lol.

Chef Cho Peach Berry No.1: price and how it tasted

The size was No.1! 💸 The price was ₩53,000, and true to its name, it's a fruit cake generously topped with strawberries and peaches 🍰

When I opened the box, the fruit on top was piled on so generously that the look alone won me over ☺️

The strawberries looked fresh 🍓 and the peaches added a sweet, fragrant note — with both fruits together, the cake felt so much more refreshing.

Between the layers of fruit was soft whipped cream, so the tartness of the fruit and the smoothness of the cream came together nicely.

I heard Chef Cho uses dairy whipped cream, so I was curious about the cream too! Since the fruit itself was already sweet and tangy, eating it together with the cream didn't feel overly sweet — overall it came together in a smooth, mellow way 💛

Who is the Chef Cho peach berry cake for?

If you're like me and love cakes loaded with fruit, the Peach Berry should be a solid choice! They also sell slice cakes, so if ordering a whole cake feels like a lot, you could try a slice first and decide from there haha. Next time I visit, I'd like to try some of the other fruit cakes too 😆
