Uijeongbu dakgangjeong for beer at home: garlic soy pick at Dalgom's

In short

Dalgom's is a takeout and delivery dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken) shop inside Jeil Market in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. Three of us ordered the 1.5-chicken size (24,000 won) split across three flavors — sweet, spicy garlic and garlic soy — and ate it at home with beer, and the chicken stayed crisp because Dalgom's fries it in small pre-fried batches. Garlic soy was the clear winner, and the spotless open kitchen is reason enough to come back.

Dalgom's signature packed dakgangjeong

Summer feels like it's slowly wrapping up these days 🍉 But still! Blasting the AC at home and eating takeout from a good restaurant is my biggest happiness lately 💓 There are so many good restaurants in Jeil Market, but here's one I discovered for the first time! Uijeongbu's go-to dakgangjeong (Korean sweet crispy fried chicken) restaurant, a great spot for takeout in Jeil Market — here's my review of Dalgom's, let's go!

🍎Hours: closed every Monday, 10:00–21:00 🍎Takeout, parking, reservations available

If you park at the Jeil Market parking lot, you get a 1-hour parking ticket.

What kind of place is Dalgom's in Jeil Market?

Dalgom's is a takeout-focused dakgangjeong restaurant inside Jeil Market in Uijeongbu. It's already word-of-mouth famous as a takeout spot in the market — I'd walked past it many times but this was my first actual visit haha! Turns out it was one of those quietly beloved local favorites I just didn't know about yet.

Interior of the Dalgom's shop

Walking in, the incredibly kind couple who run the place greet you, and even during the short time you're there for takeout, they're so friendly and warm that you leave in a good mood.

You can really feel the owner's pride in the place! I've tried a lot of dakgangjeong restaurants in Uijeongbu but rarely found one I really liked, and delivery orders were even more disappointing. But this one? Already Uijeongbu's number one dakgangjeong for delivery!

Dalgom's open kitchen frying area

An open kitchen this clean at a fried chicken shop?

A clean open kitchen you wouldn't expect from a fried chicken shop

The number one reason first-time customers keep coming back is this spotless kitchen... How can a fried chicken shop be this clean? We all know fried chicken places don't always have the best hygiene reputation, but this place is genuinely well-managed and immaculate.

That's why regulars keep coming back, and apparently they rank #1 on Baedal Teukgeup, Ddangyeoyo, and Meokkaebi (Korean delivery apps)!

Dalgom's menu and prices

Dalgom's menu is divided by number of people, and 1.5 chickens for three people costs ₩24,000. It was actually just me and my husband this time, but we picked the generous 1.5-chicken option anyway.

  • Solo, half chicken — ₩9,000
  • For two, one chicken — ₩17,000
  • For three, 1.5 chickens — ₩24,000

They toss the sauce right in front of you, and apparently they throw out any leftover sauce and only use fresh batches each time 🥹🥹 Details like this must be what makes the flavor different, right??

After a short wait, it's packed and ready! With 1.5 chickens, it was seriously heavy haha. I scurried home so we could eat together once my husband got off work.

Sweet, spicy garlic or garlic soy: which flavor wins?

With the 1.5-chicken order you can pick up to three flavors, so we went with sweet, spicy garlic, and garlic soy. Piping hot dakgangjeong arrived, plus shrimp chips and pickled radish on the house 🫣🫣

I chose sweet, spicy garlic, and garlic soy as my three flavors haha! Bburinkle flavor was popular too, but I really wanted that classic seasoning flavor haha.

So that's all three flavors! The 1.5-chicken portion was plenty, and getting to pick three flavors meant it never got boring — the fun of mixing it up. Personally, my ranking was garlic soy > sweet > spicy garlic!

Eating Dalgom's dakgangjeong at home with beer

My husband had beer! I had Asahi Zero... it won't be long before I can join him for real beer again — a bit scary but exciting these days 🫣🫣

How could crispy dakgangjeong not taste good? They said they don't pre-fry in one giant batch but in small rounds, and once you taste it, you get why — not hard and tough, just genuinely crispy, with the sauce melting in — such a treat 💓

What to know before you order takeout at Dalgom's

At Dalgom's, ordering just 10 minutes ahead gets your food packed and ready right away, and parking at the Jeil Market lot earns you a 1-hour parking ticket. Fried chicken from the Uijeongbu market is great too, but some days you're just craving dakgangjeong specifically, and on those days I'll definitely be back here 👍 The cleanliness won me over first, and the taste followed through — no reason not to eat here.

There are plenty of good restaurants in Jeil Market in Uijeongbu, but this is the one that's just right for takeout, run by owners so kind they put you in a good mood. I'll definitely be back for more dakgangjeong soon!
