Stopping at Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch on a Hanam drive

Today, while driving around Hanam, I found a jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) restaurant in Hanam. Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch — the name itself is so cute it caught my eye haha. The staff were super friendly too, which made me feel great about the place.

Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch, where you can have a Hanam-style Korean set meal! It's conveniently near Hanam City Hall and the Chungung-dong Community Center, and there's parking right in front of the store so I didn't have to worry about that. The exterior was so pretty that it felt like I was on some kind of outing, which got me excited.

Plus, you can get the perilla oil jjukkumi as takeout for just ₩10,000, so it was a great deal price-wise too!

The giraffe-view window seat and an interior that suits kids and groups

The inside of Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch was also decorated colorfully and nicely! It's great for group visits and also perfect for a family meal with kids.

There were also several tables further inside the store~! You can enjoy a more private meal in there.

At the seat I sat in, there was a giraffe right outside the window, like I'd come to visit a zoo hahaha. Such a fun restaurant haha. This Hanam jjukkumi restaurant seems like it would especially be a hit with babies!

Jigueseo On Jjukkumi menu: perilla oil jjukkumi set and braised monkfish

The signature menu is the perilla oil jjukkumi set. It comes with tasty side dishes and hot pot rice, so you get a proper, well-arranged Korean set meal. Braised monkfish is also a famous dish here, and I plan to try that next time~ They also serve fresh cod stew and fresh cod clear soup.

The side dishes were salad, jellyfish salad, japchae, kimchi, and seaweed soup! Along with those came pollack roe and perilla oil, which go great with jjukkumi. The kimchi seemed to be domestic and it was delicious. The pollack roe mixed with perilla oil wasn't too salty — just right!

After a short wait, the warm hot pot rice arrived. On top were sweet pumpkin and some medicinal-looking ingredients. Felt like it'd be good for the body.

You can see the steam rising, right!! The rice was cooked so nicely and chewy.

How spicy is the smoky perilla oil jjukkumi?

Here's today's star, the jjukkumi! It looked delicious just from the color!

The smoky char on the jjukkumi was amazing, and while it wasn't super spicy, the savory depth of the sauce was incredible. They said it's made with domestic red pepper powder! And apparently they make the sauce from scratch too haha.

I poured perilla oil freshly pressed at an oil mill over the rice and had a bite with the jjukkumi ~~~ The perilla oil aroma was so good.

This time I scooped up a big pile of jjukkumi ~~~ and mixed it all together! Hahaha. It was slightly spicy but didn't upset my stomach at all, which I loved! Finished the whole bowl. Officially a great jjukkumi restaurant in Hanam.

Dessert at Jigueseo On: sungnyung, Han River ramyeon and ice cream

I finished up with some nutty scorched rice tea haha. The store also had clean, separate men's and women's restrooms, which was convenient.

As part of a review event, you could also get Han River ramyeon — they had Jin Ramen mild flavor!

For a palate cleanser, there was coffee and ice cream. Eating the sweet ice cream boosted my mood.
