Anyang gopchang restaurant with thick beef heart and enoki: Ilmigop
In short
Ilmigop is a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant on Bisan-ro in Dongan-gu, Anyang, Gyeonggi, where ingredients arrive and are trimmed the same day. The order was the assorted grill and the hwangso gopchang grill, with unusually thick beef heart, plump daechang (large intestine) and enoki mushrooms grilled in gopchang fat, finished with cheese fried rice. The shopping-center parking lot is large and the dining room is clean, so Ilmigop is easy to enjoy without the smell gopchang places are known for.

Today I'm bringing you a review of Ilmigop, a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in Anyang where I had a really delicious meal! They say they prep same-day sourced ingredients on the same day, tenderizing everything with natural ingredients — let me show you what the place is like :)
Where is Ilmigop, and what are its hours and parking?
Ilmigop is located at 9 Bisan-ro, 1st floor, units 114 & 116, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are Tue–Fri 17:00–24:00 and Sat–Sun 14:00–24:00, with last order at 23:00, and it's closed on Mondays. You can park in the shopping center's parking lot.
When I think of gopchang restaurants, I usually picture a slightly rough, old-school vibe, but Ilmigop looked clean from the outside!

You can park in the building's shopping center lot — it's spacious with plenty of spots, so parking was easy. If you're visiting by car, you really don't need to worry much about parking :)
Does Ilmigop smell like a gopchang restaurant? Inside the dining room
Ilmigop's interior was surprisingly clean for a gopchang restaurant. The floors and tables were well maintained, and I didn't notice much of the greasy smell you'd typically expect, so it was pleasant to eat there!

While looking around, I noticed that Ilmigop makes a point of preparing same-day sourced ingredients on the same day! In particular, photos of the faces of the suppliers who deliver their ingredients were lined up on the wall. It gave me the sense that this place runs with real pride in its ingredients :)
Ilmigop's menu and the frozen beer glass
Ilmigop's menu includes grilled items like gopchang, daechang, and makchang, plus a variety of meal options. We ordered the 'assorted grill' and 'hwangso gopchang grill'!

Take a look at the menu for reference :) They had soju, beer, and even highballs, so there's plenty of choice depending on your taste :) It was so hot that day that we started off with a cold beer first haha

When we ordered beer, they gave us a genuinely frozen glass!! Even the handle was cold, and it just melted away the heat — I could drink it cold until the very last sip :)
Ilmigop's side dishes and sundubu jjigae
Ilmigop's basic side dishes were a dipping sauce, salad, chive salad, and pickled onion. Since gopchang is a greasy food, eating it with these spicy, refreshing side dishes really cut through the richness. The chive salad especially was the best....!!!

Along with the side dishes, sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) also came out! The broth was spicy and delicious, and it was packed with soft tofu — loved it! Before the gopchang even arrived, I'd already started drinking with the sundubu jjigae..!!lol

Assorted grill and hwangso gopchang grill: how thick is the beef heart?
Ilmigop's assorted grill came out loaded on the grill plate with chive salad, enoki mushrooms, green onion, garlic, rice cake, and other sides to grill alongside the gopchang, makchang, and daechang. Just looking at it made my mouth water...

You're supposed to eat the heart first when you have gopchang, right? But honestly, I'd never seen a heart this big and thick before!! It was one of the thickest hearts I've seen at any gopchang restaurant so far....!!

I first dipped the heart in the sauce that came with it, and it paired really well. It was thick but not chewy at all — actually soft and delicious. Popping pieces one by one before the gopchang finished cooking made for the perfect drinking snack..🤭

The daechang was also big and plump and really delicious, and the gopchang was cut into bite-sized pieces, so eating it together with the grilled green onion and garlic cut through the richness nicely and paired really well!

And I can't leave out the enoki mushrooms that came with it — instead of just grilling them plain, they're grilled golden brown in the gopchang fat, and this turned out way more delicious than expected lol Eating the crispy enoki mushrooms together with the gopchang gave a great texture and taste, so I kept going for that combo haha😋
Cheese fried rice at Ilmigop: a 1.5-person portion
You've got to have fried rice after gopchang..!! After eating for a while, we ordered Ilmigop's fried rice with cheese added. It was listed as a 1.5-person portion, and when we actually ate it, the amount was pretty substantial.

More than anything, the fried rice itself was really delicious — the seasoning was a bit strong and spicy, but I actually liked that!! After eating gopchang, it cut through the lingering richness while keeping my spoon coming back for more haha

Ordering the fried rice also came with a spicy pickled radish salad, which was delicious and paired really well with the fried rice too!

If you love the crispy rice crust at the bottom of fried rice, you know what I'm talking about...? I diligently scraped that up too... I ate every last bite happily and left satisfied :)
Before leaving, they even had air freshener set up for you to spray! The place itself is so clean and pleasant that the smell doesn't cling to your clothes as much as you'd expect, but I still sprayed some on my way out for a fresh finish haha
Is Ilmigop in Anyang worth a visit?
Ilmigop in Anyang is a gopchang restaurant I liked for its spacious parking lot and clean interior! The plump daechang and thick heart were delicious, and the restaurant's evident pride in its ingredients made me trust it even more. Personally, the fried rice stuck with me as especially good, and I liked the thoughtful little touches throughout, from the frosty cold beer glass to the air freshener after the meal :)
If you're looking for a clean, pleasant gopchang restaurant to enjoy in Anyang, Ilmigop is definitely worth a visit :)💛
