Suwon evening café with matcha latte and choco fig: Caffeine Focus
In short
Caffeine Focus is a bakery café in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, occupying all three floors of a building beside the Hwaseong Fortress wall path. Arriving around 6:50pm after dinner with a middle-school-age child, we took a 3rd-floor window seat and ordered an iced americano (5,500 won), a matcha latte (6,300 won) and a choco fig ciabatta (6,800 won), all in generous portions. Even in the evening, Caffeine Focus is an easy place to sit a while with a fortress-wall view.

On an evening date with my middle-schooler in Haenggung-dong, after a good dinner and a cool walk along the fortress wall, Caffeine Focus caught my eye. The whole building — all three floors — is café space, so you can take your time, and it's known for baking its own bread; even though it's a new café, there were quite a few customers.

Where is Caffeine Focus in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, and is there parking?
Caffeine Focus is a big café built along the fortress-wall view in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Parking is available in the resident-priority spots in front of the building, and there's also a nearby public parking lot. It's still a bit hot at midday, but the air conditioning is on full blast haha *_*

There's a pretty mirror photo zone at the entrance too, great for pictures

Open every day from 11am, closing at 8pm, closed every Tuesday — worth keeping in mind before you visit :-)

There are outdoor terrace seats too. I think we visited around 6:50pm after dinner.

The 1st-floor showcase and Caffeine Focus's house-made sourdough bread
The first floor of Caffeine Focus is set up as the ordering space, and the house-made sourdough breads are lined up in a showcase by type, so it's easy to see and order what you want

There's quite a variety, right? The ciabatta at Caffeine Focus is made with levain (natural sourdough starter), cold-fermented for over 72 hours :-)

Plain, choco fig, squid-ink cheese, olive cheese, egg scone, cheesecake, and more — quite the lineup

Coffee, drinks, lattes, smoothies, teas, and ades — the variety at this Haenggung-dong café is great, so everyone can find something to their taste at Caffeine Focus.

Also, leaving a receipt review gets you a free homemade granola *_* I have no idea how nutty and toasty it must taste

What are the 2nd- and 3rd-floor fortress-wall view seats like?
After ordering, we headed up to the 2nd floor. There's a service table set up in one corner, and both the 2nd and 3rd floors have fortress-wall views, which was nice. I wondered if there'd be customers this late in the evening, but there were quite a few scattered around — I snapped this shot of Caffeine Focus on the way out

Going up to the 3rd floor, the even more open fortress view won me over, so we settled into a window seat *_* Seeing solo customers enjoying both the 2nd and 3rd floors, Caffeine Focus is clearly a great café whether you're alone or with a group.

Besides the window seats, there are also round-table seats like this.

There's an outdoor terrace on the 3rd floor too, with a service table stocked with blankets, water, and tissues, and a restroom on the left side, which is convenient.

Iced americano, matcha latte and choco fig ciabatta: taste and prices
At Caffeine Focus we ordered three things: an iced americano (₩5,500), a matcha latte (₩6,300), and a choco fig (₩6,800).

Wherever I go, I pretty much only drink iced americano, and this one had a generous pour, which I liked ^^ I personally dislike sourness, and there wasn't any here — it had a nutty, toasty flavor with just the right body. Maybe because we'd just eaten, but it left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed — a really good americano.
And the matcha latte *_* Again, a generous portion that my kid loved. The deep, slightly bitter matcha flavor paired beautifully with the nutty milk, and it disappeared in no time. Matcha lovers will love this matcha latte from Caffeine Focus.

And even though we were really full, the bread looked so good we ordered it anyway — the choco fig, made with figs that are in season right now. It was chewy with whole chunks of chocolate throughout, giving bursts of sweetness alongside the tangy-sweet flavor of the figs — I ate it up so happily.

The Haenggung-dong view from the outdoor tables behind Caffeine Focus
Stepping outside, you get this pretty view of Haenggung-dong *_* Inside the café, you get a calm, quiet fortress-wall view, while the outdoor tables behind the café offer yet another view — that's the charm of Caffeine Focus. If you want to spend some relaxed time with good coffee and bread, this Haenggung-dong café is such a great pick, isn't it?
