Men's down perm and Ivy League cut at a Dangsan hair salon in Seoul
In short
Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch is a hair salon in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, on the second floor of the Samsung Raemian Sangga building near exit 10 of Dangsan Station. After a down perm near home left the hair kinked and pressed unevenly, the writer got a men's cut plus a down perm on the fringe, top and sides from director Baekgyeong, finished as an Ivy League cut with the fringe swept fully up. Because the perm was set to allow for a narrow head shape, styling it at home afterwards was easy.

Why a botched down perm sent me to a Dangsan Station hair salon
I got a men's cut and men's down perm from director Baekgyeong at Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch, a hair salon near Dangsan Station. I usually wear my hair swept up, but I'd been keeping a bit of length with the flat iron for an ivy league cut.
Recently I got a down perm near my house and it was seriously a disaster... some sections were pressed down properly and others weren't, and there were even weird kinks in some spots. I was so flustered. A week or two later I finally managed to look human again with just a cut.
So this time I searched for somewhere that actually knows what they're doing for a men's down perm, and that's how I ended up at Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch. I booked ahead and visited, and got a men's cut and men's down perm from director Baekgyeong.
Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch: location and opening hours
I arrived about 5 minutes early after booking through Naver Reservations. The salon is located at unit 202, Samsung Raemian Sangga Building 1-dong, on Dangsan-ro in Yeongdeungpo-gu, close to exits 9 and 10 of Line 9 Dangsan Station. There's also an intercity bus stop right at Dangsan, so I came by bus — super convenient since it's right by the station.
Weekdays generally run 10:00 to 20:00, and weekends 10:00 to 19:00. Closed days can vary depending on the director or manager, so I'd recommend booking with some flexibility.

Just follow the map and you'll spot Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch easily — head straight into the commercial building and up to the 2nd floor to arrive.

White-toned waiting area and one-person shampoo rooms
I walked in, dropped off my bag, and sat down — the waiting area was clean and nice, with a pretty white-toned interior, and the staff greeted me kindly.

Apparently Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch has the washing area split into 3 or 4 separate spaces. Instead of everyone packed together, which always feels a bit awkward, each space is set up for one person only — I liked that a lot.

Consultation: an Ivy League cut with the fringe swept fully up, and how far the down perm goes
I sat down and consulted with director Baekgyeong at Hair Studio Baekga about how to cut my hair. I had some length left, but it was at the point where I needed the flat iron to push the fringe slightly to the side, so we agreed it'd be better to cut it shorter overall, sweep the fringe fully up, and go shorter and cleaner.
For the down perm, we did the fringe, top, and sides, and left the back as just a cut.

The first round of cutting was done — clean and crisp. Next came the men's down perm. There's a before-and-after comparison at the end, so it'll be worth comparing again there.

How the men's down perm is done, step by step
Director Baekgyeong applied the down perm solution section by section, with real attention to detail.

Starting from the sides and moving to the fringe and top, the solution was applied carefully to every section. I waited it out with a drink and some snacks, then had my hair washed, got a second cut, and it was finished.

Men's down perm Ivy League cut: before and after
Ta-da!! Here's the before and after of my men's down perm ivy league cut at Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch.
The back was cut beautifully clean, and the sides were pressed down neatly with the perm too. My head shape is a bit narrow, so both the cut and the down perm needed extra care in those areas — and every detail was handled so precisely that it turned out great.
The top came out perfectly permed too, and the fringe length looked just right once fully swept up. The very first photo in this post is one I took after setting it nicely at home — since it was styled so well at the salon, it was easy to set myself, and I was really happy with how it turned out.

There's a Naver Pay review event running for the men's down perm at Hair Studio Baekga, Dangsan Station Branch, so keep that in mind. It came out looking so nice — I'm really happy with it and I'm already planning to go back for another pretty style :)
