Seocho poke takeout, teriyaki steak with extra shrimp: Olla Poke

I went on a trip recently and ate a ton of delicious food haha, so I figured I should have a healthy but filling meal for once. That's how I ended up searching for a good poke spot nearby and found Olla Poke Seocho Gyodae Branch.

Where is Olla Poke Seocho Gyodae Branch, and what is the space like?

Olla Poke Seocho Gyodae Branch is on the basement level of 54 Banpo-daero 28-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's the kind of menu a lot of office workers in Seocho-dong pick for lunch~~~ It's near Jangan Children's Park by Seocho and Gyodae, so it's great for a healthy meal followed by a quick stroll haha~

The store is on B1, so watch your step — the stairs are pretty steep.

The store was a decent size, and the clean interior really stood out! You can eat in a bright, fresh atmosphere with vivid orange tones~~~ haha

I visited around weekday lunchtime and there were a lot of people eating solo. I'd recommend grabbing a seat before ordering!

Outlets, phone stands and the self-serve bar at Olla Poke

Above the table seats there are outlets to charge your phone and phone stands, which made it perfect for scrolling my phone while eating haha

I could also grab a simple coffee at the self-serve bar. And the ordering instructions were kindly written out, so it seemed easy to understand if you gave them a quick read!

I'm sharing the menu board just for reference! There's salmon poke loaded with fresh raw salmon, tuna poke with a rich savory flavor, light and clean garlic shrimp poke, and more — plus a solid range of bases (brown rice, buckwheat noodles, salad) and dressings to choose from! It was all laid out so clearly that I could take in the whole menu at a glance, which was super convenient!! haha

You order via kiosk! When you're eating alone, a kiosk you can browse at your own pace is honestly more comfortable these days~~ haha

The origin of the vegetables was clearly labeled, and there was an event running too — write a review and get a free cola haha. There was another door next to the kiosk, so you could actually come in or go out through two different entrances (one gentle slope, one steep one). Just use whichever feels easier! haha

What the steak poke set cost that day

Now it was time to actually order. I wanted to eat comfortably at home, so I went with a takeout order~~~

That's what I ordered! You can mix and match to build the poke bowl exactly how you want. The poke and soup set comes with both, and there's an extra charge depending on which types you choose~

The poke came out in under 10 minutes after ordering. Getting it so quickly was an extra plus!

How do the steak poke and mushroom soup taste?

Ta-da! The steak poke and mushroom soup I brought home looked so appetizing haha

They really didn't skimp on ingredients — the portion was generous and the vegetables were fresh~

Since it had been a while since I'd had poke, I was even more excited to see how it would taste~~~

First, a little palate cleanser with the mushroom soup~

The mushroom soup had a slightly creamy, soft texture and flavor. It settled my stomach nicely and was really tasty~

Next up, the steak poke. I'd seen in other posts that wasabi is the recommended sauce, but I wanted something sweet, so I went with teriyaki.

Since I wanted to keep it light, I only added about a third of the sauce and tried the vegetables first — crisp and fresh. Then I took a bite of the steak, which was tender and savory-salty and delicious~ At other places the steak can be chewy, but here it had none of that — it went down smoothly and I really enjoyed it. It paired well with the sweet teriyaki sauce too, which made it even more delicious! haha

The bits of corn, chickpeas, and pickles scattered throughout gave nice bites of texture so it never got boring, and the extra shrimp I added was plump and springy and went really well with everything~~~

Eating a delicious bowl of poke alongside warm mushroom soup left me feeling lighter, body and mind, and like I'd filled up on something genuinely healthy haha.
