Gatjidong menu and what we ordered
Gatjidong offers more than just tonkatsu — udon, buckwheat soba, pasta, rice bowls, salads, and side dishes are all on the menu. Their signature half-and-half tonkatsu combines pork loin cutlet and cheese cutlet, while the mixed tonkatsu I ordered lets you enjoy both pork cutlet and chicken katsu on one plate.
There's also a kids' service, and leaving a Naver receipt review gets you 1 canned soda or 3pc vegetable croquette.
Today I ordered the Gatjidong mixed tonkatsu — ₩15,800, chili cheese sticks (2pc) — ₩6,500, and grapefruit ade — ₩4,000.

What's at the self-serve rice, soup and broth bar?

The self-serve bar at Gatjidong Busan Jangjeon Branch had warm soup, broth, and rice ready, so I could grab what I liked before the main dish arrived.

The self-serve bar was easy to use, and the flow from ordering to getting your meal set up felt smooth and comfortable.
How was the 15,800 won Gatjidong mixed katsu?

The Gatjidong mixed tonkatsu came out on a large plate with the pork cutlet and chicken katsu neatly arranged.
The golden-fried exterior was crispy, while the meat inside was cooked moist and tender.

The cheese cutlet was packed with savory cheese, and eaten while still warm it had a soft, rich flavor.

The tonkatsu itself had a crispy coating and moist pork loin, matched with a smooth sauce that made it easy to enjoy.

The chicken katsu had thick, tender chicken breast with a clean flavor, making it nice to alternate with the tonkatsu. Rather than eating just one type the whole time, switching between tonkatsu and chicken katsu made the meal feel more varied right to the end. Dipping it in the sauce added a sweet, smooth flavor, and dipping lightly worked well when I wanted something cleaner-tasting.

Chili cheese sticks and grapefruit ade at Gatjidong
The chili cheese sticks (2pc) at ₩6,500 came out as two long, thick cheese sticks fried until crispy.
Since I ate mine last, the cheese inside had firmed up a little,
but if eaten right away, you'd get to enjoy the cheese stretching out long even more.

With plenty of cheese packed inside the crispy coating, I'd recommend trying them while still warm.

The grapefruit ade was ₩4,000. Served in a clear glass, its soft pink color was as gentle and lovely as a rose.

Is Gatjidong Busan Jangjeon Branch worth a visit?
It was a satisfying meal, getting to try both tonkatsu and chicken katsu at once in a clean, bright space. The self-serve bar with rice, soup, and broth made it filling, and free parking made it convenient to visit by car.
With a varied menu and comfortable seating, this is a place worth remembering near Oncheonjang for a laid-back meal, whether lunch or dinner.
