True to its name, this Noryangjin pork belly spot has a strong hanok (traditional Korean house) vibe with an open layout that gives it an outdoor pojangmacha feel too. It's near Noryangjin Station on Line 1 and Line 9, right in the middle of the hagwon (cram school) district and food alley, so it's super easy to reach by public transit!

The restaurant is clean and cozy, great for hanging out with friends, a date, or a group work dinner! Every table has a tablet ordering system, so you can browse menu photos and order comfortably.

What lands on the grill first, plus the self-serve bar
I loved Naengsam Hanok's default setup right away! Lettuce, sliced green onion, water dropwort, kimchi and garlic, bracken fern, and sliced potato all come out to grill on the pan along with the meat. Kimchi grilled in the meat fat is so good, and the thinly sliced potatoes especially were my style — cooked just enough to stay crunchy, and fried in the fat they tasted like potato chips.

Try sprinkling on the honey butter seasoning on the table too — the sweet-and-salty combo is fun!

Whatever side dishes you're running low on, you can grab plenty more from the self-serve bar.

The free steamed egg and doenjang stew at Naengsam Hanok
And as standard service, you get a soft steamed egg and a spicy, deep doenjang stew alongside! I'm team doenjang-stew and my partner is team steamed-egg, but there was no need to choose — we got to enjoy both.

The stew especially is spicy and just perfect over rice! Truly the textbook definition of a Korean BBQ restaurant's doenjang stew...

Grilling all six cuts of Set A: how they tasted
Here's Set A. The tray comes fully packed, arranged neatly by cut. I think the order was shaved pork belly, beef belly, frozen pork neck, then frozen pork belly — the amount is huge and there's a good variety~ The house-made gochujang pork belly, served separately, looked especially appetizing with its glossy, spicy red sauce, and honestly since this is a frozen-belly place I didn't expect much from the regular pork belly, but the Korean pork belly was thick and fresh with a nice fat-to-meat ratio.

Being domestic, the color looked nice too and there was no frozen texture at all, which I liked even more!

Shaved pork belly, beef belly, frozen pork neck, frozen pork belly — these cook the moment they hit the pan, so chopsticks go right for them! The savory fat spreads through smoothly, and eaten with the side dishes it's so good. Grilling the meat together with water dropwort, bracken fern, and kimchi — there's no way this isn't delicious...

This is the real deal, thick-cut Korean pork belly with proper chew and juiciness! After the thinner cuts, biting into the pork belly with more texture was extra satisfying. But seriously, the portions are huge... such a generous place.

And finally the gochujang pork belly to cut the richness. Apparently it's a house-made sauce developed by Naengsam Hanok — not aggressively spicy but sweet-and-spicy, making it a great treat to grill as the finale!
Is Naengsam Hanok worth it for a Noryangjin BBQ dinner or group meal?
Naengsam Hanok in Noryangjin let us thoroughly enjoy six generous cuts of meat plus a full set with steamed egg and doenjang stew! The meat quality was clean with no off smell, and grilling a variety of side dishes on the hot plate was fun too — a very satisfying meal. If you're in Noryangjin looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant with amazing value, a frozen pork belly spot, or a place for a work dinner, definitely stop by.
