Sashimi shop in Noryangjin: custom salmon omakase takeout, Ttangkkeut
In short
Ttangkkeut Maeul is a sashimi takeout and platter shop at stalls 42–43 on the first floor of Noryangjin Fish Market in Dongjak, Seoul. Reserved in advance, the ttangmakase (chef's choice sashimi) was requested salmon-heavy and came packed with thick-cut salmon, red seabream and flounder, ice packs and generous chogochujang, ssamjang and sushi vinegar sauce. If you can't decide which fish to order, Ttangkkeut Maeul's ttangmakase is the pick because you can name the fish you want.

Today I'm introducing Ttangkkeut Maeul (땅끝마을) at Noryangjin Fish Market ✨

How to reach Ttangkkeut Maeul: 10 minutes on foot from Noryangjin Station
Ttangkkeut Maeul is located inside Noryangjin Fish Market, about a 10-minute walk from Noryangjin Station.

Go in through South Gate 1 and look diagonally to the left on the first floor for stalls 42 and 43. We actually went in through South Gate 2, but the shop's name was written clearly on the ceiling, so it wasn't hard to find at all.

Parking is free for the first 30 minutes, and it's ₩1,000 per 20 minutes after that.

Ttangkkeut Maeul has been featured on YouTube's Korean Englishman and MBC's Welcome, First Time in Korea?, among other shows, and is apparently a well-known Noryangjin spot recognized by both local customers and international tourists! They prepare the best seasonal catch — red seabream in spring, croaker and jack mackerel in summer, mullet in fall, and amberjack in winter — and I heard the melt-in-your-mouth amberjack assortment is especially popular in winter ⭐️
Inside Ttangkkeut Maeul and the condition of the fish tanks
When you visit Ttangkkeut Maeul, you can see staff busily slicing sashimi right on the spot,

and you can see a variety of fish along with abalone, octopus, sea cucumber, and sea squirt kept in clean, clear tanks. Visually, the tanks looked really well-maintained, which was reassuring in terms of hygiene and freshness!

Reserving takeout, or dining in at Haneulchae Byeolgwan
We had booked ahead, so we could pick up our order right away, already packed.

We ended up eating elsewhere, but Ttangkkeut Maeul also directly runs Haneulchae Byeolgwan, a dine-in restaurant with a spacious, clean hall and private rooms, so you can eat comfortably there too — apparently great for family gatherings or group dinners!

What a salmon-heavy ttangmakase chef's choice platter looks like
We asked for a salmon-focused ttangmakase ✨ Ttangmakase is Ttangkkeut Maeul's special menu that lets you enjoy the best seasonal fish at its best, and I liked that you can request whichever fish you want 🔥

They gave us a big ice pack, so everything stayed nice and cold,

and we got plenty of ssamjang, soy sauce, chogochujang (vinegared chili sauce), and sushi vinegar sauce as well. (There was a whole bunch of soy sauce we didn't even open..!) When we peeled off the plastic wrap, the assorted sashimi's beautiful colors were revealed!

The set included live-fish sashimi of salmon, red seabream, and flounder, along with fresh wasabi, radish sprouts, pickled radish, and pickled ginger. There was shredded radish underneath the sashimi, but not too much, so the portion looked as generous as it does in the photos 👍

How did the salmon, flounder and red seabream taste?
Everything was sliced thick, so the texture was great across the board. The salmon was rich and fatty, so the more you chewed, the more savory it got — soft and moist. The flounder was clean and light, with a chewy, springy texture that was really appealing. The red seabream was firm with a subtle sweetness, and it was delicious 🤍
Is Ttangkkeut Maeul's ttangmakase worth ordering?
If you're looking for a great sashimi spot at Noryangjin Fish Market on Nodeul-ro in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, I recommend Ttangkkeut Maeul. I especially loved the salmon, so I'd suggest including it, and if you're not sure what to order, the ttangmakase is a great choice too 💗
Sashimi picnics are trending these days, so it might be nice to bring your sashimi to a nearby spot like Nodeul Island, Yeouido Hangang Park, Ichon Hangang Park, or Banpo Hangang Park and enjoy it while looking out at the Han River.
