Korean BBQ open on Chuseok in Haengdang-dong: grilled kimchi, Pujutgan
In short
Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom is a fresh-meat Korean BBQ restaurant near Haengdang Market on Haengdang-ro 17-gil in Seongdong, Seoul. Two people visited at 8pm on a weekday and ordered one serving each of fresh pork belly, pork neck and pork belly at 20,000 won per serving, and a staff member grilled everything on a cauldron lid with vegetables and kimchi, then cut it at the table. Soybean paste stew and bibim naengmyeon come as unlimited free finishers, and Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom stays open as usual over the Chuseok holiday.

Introducing a Haengdang Market restaurant I visited last week. It's Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom (푸줏간생고기점).

The reason I'm calling this my number one pick near Haengdang Market is simple and clear.
- The meat is fresh and delicious.
- Great value, and they grill everything for you.
- Naengmyeon (cold noodles), stew, and other desserts are unlimited refills.

What Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom looks like inside and out

The entrance is wide and brightly lit, which makes it stand out as a top spot near Haengdang Market.

This is the interior of Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, a real gem near Haengdang Market. I went on a weekday evening and was surprised how many customers were there — this is truly the real deal. I went a bit late, at eight, so I didn't have to wait, but if I'd come right at peak dinner time I think there would have been a line, that's how popular it is.

Open through Chuseok, with staff grilling the pork for you
Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom stays open for regular business even during Chuseok, so it'd be a good spot to bring family or friends you're meeting after a long time. Best of all, the meat is affordable and great value, and the staff grill it deliciously for you.
When you go to a family gathering and only one person has to keep cutting and grilling the meat, it's exhausting. You really need to visit a good-value place like this where they grill it for you.

Free refills: stew, naengmyeon, noodles and nurungji
If you order according to your headcount, stew, naengmyeon, noodles, and scorched rice soup (nurungji) are provided free with unlimited refills. It was such a shocking and amazing service.

Prices are also really nice — pork runs around the low ₩10,000s per 100g, and beef is upper ₩10,000s to low ₩20,000s.
What two people ordered: fresh pork belly, pork neck and pork belly

Raw pork belly one serving ₩20,000, pork neck one serving ₩20,000, pork belly one serving ₩20,000.

The meat looked so fresh and delicious that even though there were just two of us, we ordered one serving each of different cuts to try.

A truly skilled staff member, with the craftsmanship of a real master, placed the vegetables and meat on the cauldron lid, grilled it, and cut it for us.
If you only think about price and go to a cheap restaurant, you end up having to grill the meat yourself, and since my husband always ends up doing it, I always feel bad. But here, even though the price is so reasonable, they grill and cut the meat for us, so we could enjoy a family meal out in total comfort.
Not just the meat — they even put kimchi on the cauldron lid to grill it, then cut it into just the right size. It's late at night as I write this and my mouth is watering just looking at these photos. The kimchi, sizzling away, is amazing eaten alongside the meat.
Finishing with soybean paste stew and bibim naengmyeon
From the unlimited refill dessert menu, we only ordered one soybean paste stew and one bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles). We were already plenty full from the large amount of meat plus the mushrooms, onions, potatoes, and other sides grilled alongside it.

The soybean paste stew was packed with potatoes, zucchini, and other vegetables, plus plenty of tofu and meat — it was so delicious.

The naengmyeon's sauce had a really deep, savory flavor, and even though it's a free dessert item, it tasted better than naengmyeon you'd pay for elsewhere. I'd want to come back just for the naengmyeon alone, it was that good. The stew was delicious too, of course. And since the meat itself is raw and fresh, the flavor is incomparable to other restaurants.
That's my genuine review of Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, the Haengdang Market restaurant that grills everything for you.
