Seongsu dessert café with red tables: matcha latte at T Coffee

In short

T Coffee is a spacious dessert café in the basement of 159 Achasan-ro in Seongsu, Seoul. After a meal at Pizza Slice out front, I stepped straight into T Coffee and ordered an iced americano, a matcha latte, and a pistachio cream puff. The white-toned room with its bold red tables made T Coffee an easy place to drink coffee quietly and take in a different mood at every seat.

T Coffee, just inside past Pizza Slice in Seongsu

T Coffee is a café at 159 Achasan-ro, basement level 1, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. After eating at Pizza Slice, I came out and found T Coffee right there, just inside.

T Coffee's basement entrance and glass front

The wide, bright space visible through the glass caught my eye, so I naturally decided to go in for a coffee.

Red tables and benches in a white-toned space

Inside T Coffee: white tones with red tables

Once inside, T Coffee turned out to be a clean, white-toned space with bold red tables and benches as the standout feature.

Brick tile floor with wall art and speakers

The floor was finished in warm-toned brick tile, and small paintings and speakers dotted the walls, giving a simple space a quietly distinct personality.

A long stretch of red table seating

The long stretch of red tables was especially memorable — overall it felt clean and fuss-free, the kind of place you can sit comfortably and just enjoy your coffee.

Wide café interior with wood-toned furniture

T Coffee seating for solo visits and for two

The inside of T Coffee was much bigger than I expected, with a good variety of tables. Warm wood-toned furniture paired with the brick floor made for a calm, comfortable mood, and lighting scattered around made the space feel even cozier.

Cozy table seats under hanging lights
Quiet inner seating with pendant lighting

From window seats up front to quiet spots further in, there was enough variety that it seemed just as good for a solo coffee as for chatting with a friend.

Window seat with a green view through large glass panes

The green scenery visible through the big windows added to it — this looked like a great spot to sip coffee slowly on a sunny day.

What's on the T Coffee menu and in the dessert case

Looking at the menu, T Coffee had more variety than I expected — coffee, tea, and non-coffee drinks all lined up so there was something for every taste. I'd meant to just have a quick coffee and leave, but once I saw the dessert case, that plan was out. Several desserts were neatly arranged, each with its own charm, and I ended up browsing for a while.

Cakes and baked goods in the dessert display case

Small but prettily displayed desserts — the kind of menu you'd want to try one by one alongside coffee.

Staff preparing drinks at the open bar

Through the open bar I could see the staff busily preparing drinks, and I found myself watching for a good while.

Neatly arranged coffee machine and grinder at the open bar

The neatly arranged open bar and coffee machine also stood out. Watching the barista work, with the machine and grinder in full view, made the wait for coffee part of the café experience. The faint smell of coffee beans in the quiet space was a nice touch too — anyone who loves coffee would find this corner especially interesting.

Full view of the café interior mixing red and wood tones

With bold red and warm wood tones mixed throughout, each seat had a slightly different mood, which made wandering around and looking at the space its own kind of fun.

The uniquely designed candlesticks on the tables also caught my eye. One sat on each red table, adding an extra special touch to the space.

An americano, matcha latte, and cream puff on a red table

How the americano, matcha latte and pistachio cream puff tasted

Our order arrived: a cool americano, a matcha latte, and a pistachio cream puff. Set on the bold red table, the drinks and dessert matched the space's mood perfectly and looked great in photos too. This café is clean overall but has a clear point of style, so browsing around it slowly was genuinely enjoyable.

A pistachio cream puff piled generously with cream

Everything looked even better set on the red table. The pistachio cream puff in particular was piled generously with cream, and it looked promising before I'd even taken a bite.

  • Americano: clean, not overly acidic, went well with the dessert
  • Matcha latte: the slightly bitter matcha and smooth milk balanced each other nicely
  • Pistachio cream puff: generously creamy but not as sweet as expected, with a strong, nutty pistachio flavor that paired really well with the coffee

A good stretch of time spent enjoying tasty coffee and dessert in a stylish space. I'd like to come back and try the other desserts one by one next time.
