Kiosk ordering and banana brûlée at Ongfleur, an Itaewon brunch spot

Looking for a meeting spot in Itaewon? I went to Ongfleur, a brunch restaurant near Itaewon Station, and had French toast and eggs Benedict — here's my review 😋

Getting to Ongfleur: a 17-minute uphill walk from Itaewon Station

Ongfleur is on the 1st floor of 52 Hoenamu-ro 44-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, a brunch restaurant with a striking floor-to-ceiling window facade. It shows as a 17-minute walk from Itaewon Station, but 🚕 I'd recommend taking a taxi!

I walked up, and it's a pretty steep hill so I broke a sweat haha. Still, I got to enjoy a view of Namsan Tower on the way up.

The open kitchen right at the entrance smelled so sweet.

The Ongfleur menu and how kiosk ordering works

For drinks there's coffee, smoothies, ades, and even fresh fruit juices (tomato, kiwi), so it seems like a good spot to bring kids too. The brunch set is only available on weekdays, so come on a weekday if you want to try it as a set!

You order through a kiosk, and the system brings the food to your table. Grab a seat first, then remember your table number 🤧

Ongfleur seating: private room for group meetups and family meals

Walking down the hallway at Ongfleur, the space is divided into room-like sections. I sat in the largest space furthest inside ☺️

On one side there's a separate private room with a large table for exclusive use, and it has a baby chair, so it's good for families to visit, and with such a varied menu it seems good for group meetups too 🥰

There's also a space with a standout floor-to-ceiling window, great for properly enjoying brunch 🩵 The atmosphere is relaxed enough to linger over brunch, and there were quite a few guests there!

Ongfleur is named after the city in the Normandy region of France, and maybe that's why the interior felt so stylish.

Grab water, hot sauce, and tissues yourself from the self-serve bar at the start of the hallway! It's got a bit of an Animal Crossing vibe with the little props — cute!

I went to wash my hands and even the bathroom was decorated like this? So lush and green, it put me in a good mood 🌿

I tried Ongfleur's signature dishes. The plating fills the whole plate so the dishes are pretty heavy, but it was convenient since they bring them straight to your table.

Both dishes came with a mini salad — with tomato and green grapes in a balsamic sauce, which was a light way to start. There was even dragon fruit and passion fruit to cleanse the palate at the end. All good, good 😋

Smoked salmon eggs Benedict at Ongfleur

The smoked salmon eggs Benedict came as two pieces, so my friend and I split one each.

The fluffy bread was mild and savory, and the smoked salmon on top paired really well with the hollandaise sauce. The egg was cooked just right, and even one piece was quite filling 💛

Brioche French toast with banana brûlée

Isn't the French toast so pretty to look at! The plating was really neat. Instead of being moist, the bread had a dense, weighty texture, and it wasn't too sweet. Three thick slices, hearty enough to be a meal on its own 😋

The banana brûlée that came with it had a strong burst of sweetness that was delicious 🍌

Bacon and sausage make it filling, and fruit and nuts bring the flavor up another level! It was perfect together with the nutty latte.

French toast or eggs Benedict? Which to order at Ongfleur

I usually prefer French toast, but at Ongfleur I recommend the smoked salmon eggs Benedict!
