Sushi restaurant in Dongnae, Busan with no 6pm wait: Moshi Moshi
In short
Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the 8th floor of Lotte Department Store in Dongnae-gu, Busan. A couple finished their weekend shopping, arrived at 6pm, were seated with no wait, and ordered the hoe hansang sashimi-and-sushi set with udon plus a bowl of Japanese-style ramen, then added more sushi à la carte. The long, thick slices of raw fish and a ramen bowl big enough to pass for a jumbo size made Moshi Moshi Sushi worth a return visit.

Ever get hungry after catching a movie and shopping at Lotte Department Store in Dongnae on a weekend? The basement food court is always packed, and sometimes you just want a proper, tidy meal instead. This post is for those of you in that exact spot.
- ✅ Looking for a restaurant that's convenient after shopping
- ✅ Searching for a sushi restaurant near Myeongnyun Station
- ✅ Wanting a neat, proper Japanese set meal
Cutting straight to it: this meal brought back all the same feelings I used to get at the original Busan National University branch — same great value, same jaw-dropping portions. Extremely, extremely satisfying.
Where is Moshi Moshi Sushi? 8th floor of Lotte Dongnae, a short walk after shopping
Moshi Moshi Sushi is a Japanese restaurant on the 8th floor of Lotte Department Store's Dongnae branch. My wife and I had just finished shopping there on a weekend afternoon, got hungry, and wanted to avoid the regular food court — that's how we found 'Moshi Moshi.'

I used to go often to their original location near Busan National University, and every visit left me with fond memories — reasonable prices that were kind to a broke college student's wallet, and always high-quality food. To think that this nostalgic favorite now has a branch inside a department store!
We arrived a bit before the usual dinner rush, around 6pm, and got seated immediately with no wait! It was great being able to handle both the movie/shopping and the meal in the same building.
How thick is the sashimi in the hoe hansang set (sushi + udon)?
At Moshi Moshi Sushi we ordered the 'sashimi set' and the 'Japanese-style ramen.' We decided on both without hesitation as soon as we sat down, and about 10 to 15 minutes after ordering, the food arrived beautifully arranged.

One reason I love Moshi Moshi is that the owner doesn't skimp on the raw fish. At most franchise sushi spots or buffets, you often end up disappointed — a big rice ball with a tiny slice of fish on top.

As you can see from the sushi here, the fish is sliced long and thick, so each piece fills your mouth with a satisfying, hearty bite.
A certified sushi restaurant near Myeongnyun Station!

On top of that, the udon that comes with the set has a bigger portion and a richer, deeper broth than what you'd find at a dedicated udon place — it's fantastic. It was so good that we ended up ordering extra sushi à la carte, to the point where we regretted getting too full.
Japanese-style ramen at Moshi Moshi Sushi: a bowl you'd mistake for jumbo size
The Japanese-style ramen we ordered as an extra came in a genuinely huge bowl. The moment it was served, my wife and I both said, 'Wait, did we accidentally order the jumbo size?'

And it wasn't just big for the sake of being big — it was packed generously with toppings, no gaps at all. The noodles were nice and chewy too. 'Ugh... I want to eat this again already.' My wife finished her meal fully satisfied too!
Is Moshi Moshi Sushi in Dongnae worth it, and who is it for?
Moshi Moshi Sushi at Lotte Department Store Dongnae kept the same generous spirit of the original location while adding the cleanliness and comfort of a department store dining floor — a genuine sushi restaurant near Myeongnyun Station. It didn't just fill us up; it felt like we were being rewarded with delicious food.

I'm definitely coming back the next time I visit the department store!

Just a heads up — there are plenty of à la carte items too, so it's fun to order a variety and mix things up!
