Haha. So this time I visited Uisagye, a café that's great for healing while gazing at Uicheon Stream.

Where Uisagye sits on the Uicheon Stream walking and running route

Uisagye, a well-known dessert spot in Dobong-gu, sits roughly midway along Uicheon Stream. That makes it a great place to rest during a walk along the stream, and also a really good spot to stop for coffee after a light run or workout, haha. Especially in the morning or during cooler hours, walking or running along Uicheon and then enjoying coffee and dessert at Uisagye makes for a genuinely nice route. If you're like me, looking for a Uicheon café or Changdong café that's good to visit along with a walk, this place is worth checking out. :)

Arriving just after the 10:00 weekday opening — was Uisagye quiet?

This is Uisagye, the dessert spot in Dobong-gu I mentioned. I arrived around 10:10am on a weekday. Uisagye opens at 10am, and even though it had only just opened, there were already customers inside, which surprised me a bit, haha. I expected it to be fairly quiet on a weekday morning, but seeing people arrive so early made it clear this café is already well known as a great stop after a walk or morning run along Uicheon Stream. If you want to enjoy coffee and dessert during a quiet time slot, visiting right around opening like this seems like a good idea. :)

This is the entrance into the store — isn't it lovely? Haha. Even before going in, Uisagye's exterior looks clean and full of character, which naturally caught my eye. It especially suits the mood of the Uicheon walking path, making you want to step inside even just passing by. I originally came for the dessert, but once I got there, I thought this was also a great Changdong café for photos, since the space itself is so pretty. :)

What are the second-floor seats at Uisagye like?

Uisagye also has a separate 2nd-floor space, so I headed up the stairs to take a look, haha. Once upstairs, there's first a lounge area with comfortable chairs you can lean back and relax in.

A bit further in, there are window seats flooded with sunlight, and the atmosphere there was really lovely. What I especially liked was the terrace seating! In cool autumn weather like this, sitting on the terrace with a coffee while looking out at Uicheon Stream felt like it would be truly relaxing.

Sitting by the sunny window is nice, and on a breezy day, spending time on the terrace is also great — so Uisagye, this Uicheon café, was charming in how each seat has a slightly different mood. :) If you're looking for a spot among Changdong cafés or Dobong-gu dessert places where you can enjoy the view and relax comfortably, I'd definitely recommend checking out the 2nd floor too.

Can you bring a dog to Uisagye?

Uisagye is also a café you can visit with pets. However, in accordance with the pet-accompanied entry regulations, only small dogs under 10kg are allowed inside. If you're planning to visit with your dog, this is worth keeping in mind beforehand. The best seat at Uisagye for reading

There are also books set up on one side of the store, which makes it a really nice atmosphere to sit down, sip coffee, and quietly read after a walk along Uicheon Stream, haha. Especially in a sunny spot or by the 2nd-floor window, reading here felt like it would naturally calm your mind. It didn't feel like just a café you grab coffee at and leave — more like a place to take a real break and enjoy some leisure during a walk along Uicheon Stream, which made me like it even more. :)

Uisagye is currently running a Naver receipt review event, where writing a receipt review gets you a free dipping sauce, haha. Chimney bread is a must at Uisagye, after all. Pairing the warm chimney bread with dipping sauce makes it even more delicious. Choosing your coffee beans and how the chimney bread is served

Uisagye also lets you choose from 3 types of coffee beans, which is nice since you can pick according to your taste, haha. Whether you like coffee with acidity or prefer something nuttier and heavier, I liked that you could choose to match your preference.

And Uisagye's signature dessert, chimney bread, is warmed up fresh right when you order it. Since it's prepared warm on the spot, I could really look forward to that crispy outside and soft inside texture. Choosing coffee beans to your taste and pairing it with a freshly warmed Uicheon chimney bread seemed like a really great combination. :)

Cakes, cookies and drinks for kids at Uisagye

Uisagye also sells desserts like cakes and cookies. There are drink options suited for kids too, so it seemed like a good place for families to visit, haha. Uicheon Stream is also a nice spot for a light walk with kids, so stopping by during that walk — parents grabbing a coffee while the kids enjoy drinks and dessert — sounds great. So I'd recommend Uisagye not just for dates but also as a Uicheon café that's good to visit with kids. :) If you're looking for a Dobong-gu dessert spot along your Uicheon walking route, this place is worth a visit.

How do the chimney gimbap (8,800 won) and omija ade (6,000 won) taste?

My chimney bread and house-made omija ade arrived~! Doesn't the presentation look amazing, haha. Seeing the warmly toasted chimney bread alongside the vividly colored omija ade just lifted my mood at first sight. I was especially looking forward to it since the pairing of Uisagye's signature chimney bread with the refreshing house-made omija ade seemed like it would work surprisingly well together. Enjoying this dessert and drink combo while looking at the Uicheon view made me think this really is a great café for autumn healing by the stream. :)

Inside the chimney bread, the combination of arugula and ham worked really well together. The bread itself is a bit on the sweet side, so meeting the salty flavor of the ham created that perfect sweet-and-salty balance, haha. Add in the fragrant taste of the arugula, and it wasn't greasy at all — much cleaner-tasting than I expected. Rather than feeling like just a dessert bread, it worked more like a light meal, which made it a great pairing with coffee or ade too. :)

Who is Uisagye right for?

If you're near Uicheon Stream, Uisagye is worth a visit. Stopping by after a walk or run along Uicheon, pairing warm chimney bread with coffee, and taking a break while looking at the stream view felt truly relaxing, haha. The interior was clean and comfortable, and with the 2nd-floor window seats and terrace, it felt like a great Uicheon café to visit in autumn. The signature chimney bread especially — a slightly sweet bread with ham and arugula inside — had that sweet-and-salty combo down perfectly.
