Finding Uisagye, a chimney bread café on the Uicheon Stream walking path in Dobong

Uisagye is a chimney bread café right next to Uicheon Stream, at 178 Uicheon-ro, Dobong-gu, Seoul. I was out near Uicheon Stream and spotted a pretty café, so I went in. That was Uisagye, on Uicheonro in Dobong!

I'd always wanted to try chimney bread, and I heard this place bakes it fresh to order, so I stopped by for coffee too. Once I got there, the chimney bread was great, but honestly the building itself was so pretty I already liked it before even walking in.

The building has a clean white exterior with big windows, and plants nicely arranged out front. The weather was great too, so the blue sky went well with the white building, and there was even a giant chimney bread model on top of the building — even a first-time visitor could tell right away that this was a café selling chimney bread.

Being right next to Uicheon Stream, the vibe around the café was great too. It seemed like a good spot to come for coffee and then take a walk along Uicheon Stream, and on a nice day just sitting at the café felt healing.

What we ordered at Uisagye and what it cost

We ordered: original chimney bread ₩5,500, iced americano ₩4,500, and café latte ₩4,800.

Besides the original, there was also cinnamon, chocolate, cheese, injeolmi (sweet rice cake powder), and more. Since it was my first visit, I debated which flavor to try and ended up going with the basic original. There were so many varieties that I already want to come back and try the others.

Chimney bread baked to order at Uisagye

This was my favorite part of Uisagye. Right behind the counter, they bake the chimney bread by hand. Instead of handing you bread that was baked ahead of time, they bake it fresh once your order goes in, so while waiting I could watch the bread being made right there.

The menu board also said the chimney bread is baked warm the moment you order, and sure enough, after a short wait, freshly baked chimney bread came out. The smell of baking bread filled the café, and it was a great smell. The wait didn't even feel long — actually, watching it get baked right in front of me made waiting for it kind of fun.

How does Uisagye's original chimney bread taste?

At first I thought it was just bread with a unique shape, but once I actually tried it, it was better than expected. Above all, eating it warm right after baking made it taste even better. I'd recommend eating this while it's still hot fresh out. They even gave us scissors to cut it up, which made it easier — and tastier — to eat.

The coffee at Uisagye was also good. It would've been a bit disappointing if only the chimney bread was good and the coffee wasn't, but that day the coffee was genuinely delicious too. The iced americano was clean and paired well with the chimney bread, and the café latte was smooth, delicious in a different way.

I love having an iced americano with warm bread or dessert, and that combo was perfect that day. One bite of chimney bread and a sip of cold americano cleaned my palate and made me want another bite. I also tried the café latte, which was smooth and nutty — personally very satisfying coffee-wise. I came for the dessert, but the coffee was great too, so I was very happy overall.

Uisagye's second-floor window seats over Uicheon Stream

The second floor of Uisagye is a cozy space with big windows looking out on the scenery around Uicheon Stream. We had coffee upstairs. It's not decorated in a flashy way, but it was cozy and comfortable.

Sunlight came in through the big windows, and the view of Uicheon Stream outside made me feel relaxed just sitting there. It was an especially nice day for sunlight to be streaming in. Sitting by the window sipping coffee and looking outside felt like a proper, leisurely break.

I actually liked this cozy vibe. It's a place that photographs nicely too, so I think café lovers would really enjoy it.

Can you bring a dog to Uisagye?

Going up to the second floor of Uisagye, there was a separate pet usage guide posted. It said the rules follow the pet-accompaniment entry law taking effect March 1, 2026.

According to the notice, only small dogs under 10kg can enter, and proof of completed vaccinations is required. Harnesses or leashes are mandatory, and inside the store, pets must be in a carrier bag or stroller. It also said pets are only allowed on the second floor and the terrace, and are not permitted to roam freely inside the store.

Is Uisagye in Dobong worth a visit?

I was looking for a café near Uicheon Stream and ended up at Uisagye, and it was more satisfying than I expected. What stood out most was being able to eat warm chimney bread baked right behind the counter the moment we ordered, and the coffee was good enough to enjoy alongside it.

Most of all, I liked the atmosphere on the second floor. The cozy space had good sunlight coming in and a view of Uicheon Stream outside, making it a great spot to relax with a cup of coffee.

I had the original chimney bread that day, and having it freshly baked and warm was really delicious, and the coffee was great too, so I think I'll drop by again next time I'm near Uicheon Stream. Next time, I want to try a different chimney bread flavor.
