Medium-length layered C-curl perm at Momentium, Manchon-dong, Daegu

My hair had gotten so wavy and unmanageable lately that it was stressing me out every single morning ㅠㅠ So this time, to welcome fall, I decided to switch things up with a medium-length layered perm ✨ I went to Momentium, a hair salon in Manchon-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. The owner was so kind and I absolutely loved the result haha

Where is Momentium, and when is it closed?

Momentium is a hair salon located at 42 Cheongho-ro 96-gil, 1st floor, Suseong-gu, Daegu. The storefront has a clean, tidy look. I'd recommend booking through Naver reservation before you visit!

Just a heads-up — the salon is closed every Monday and on the third Sunday of the month, so keep that in mind when planning your visit :)

What is Momentium like inside?

The interior of Momentium had an overall bright, white-toned atmosphere. I could relax comfortably during the whole service without feeling boxed in.

It was my first visit, but the owner greeted me so warmly that I didn't feel nervous going into the service at all. ☺️

There were simple snacks, tea bags, a water dispenser, and a sofa to sit and wait on.

My hair condition before the perm 🫠 I'd gotten a layered cut a few months earlier, so the layers had grown out awkwardly, and on top of that my hair was super wavy all over and just impossible to style ㅠㅠ

There were a lot of days I just tied it up because it was too much hassle, so this time I wanted a perm that would be easy to style but still give a natural sense of volume!

How the layered C-curl perm was done at Momentium

At Momentium, we first talked through the style I wanted, then my hair was trimmed. Before doing the layered perm, they set the length and layers, cut it, and then moved on to a shampoo. The shampoo room even had a massage chair — total bliss 🖤

Next they applied the perm solution — but instead of jumping straight into the perm, they carefully did a tester first to check how the curl would turn out. I really liked that they checked on my hair's condition as they went. 🤍

They also brought me water partway through the service, so I could wait comfortably ෆ

Then came the main event — rolling in the perm! My hair was rolled up tightly and heat was applied to set the curl.

They kept carefully checking that it wasn't too hot for me, and I could really tell how meticulous and precise their hands were haha

I went with a natural-looking C-curl perm. Honestly, I didn't have a super specific style in mind, so I didn't describe it in great detail — but they styled it perfectly to suit my face shape and overall vibe. 🤍

After the neutralizing step, they used a flat iron to smooth out the tightly curled hair and shape it beautifully.

Finally, they finished by drying the freshly washed hair. My hair was shampooed a total of three times, and each time I could tell the owner was paying attention to even small details, like checking the water temperature was okay.

At the end, they even taught me how to style it myself with a hair dryer. To make the curls look fuller, you rotate the dryer the same number of times on the right and left sides. I was genuinely touched that they took the time to teach me how to maintain it at home 🥺

And here's the big reveal — the after shot 🤍 The layers came out in that natural, trendy way, and the curl was exactly the level I wanted — completely satisfied!

With the layers in, my hair fell lighter and the curls set naturally, giving off a softer overall vibe than before.

Comparing the before and after like this, the difference is honestly huge... it went from looking messy and unkempt to a totally put-together, self-care kind of look 🎀🩷

A layered perm really is a magic trick for making your whole vibe prettier and softening a round face shape ㅋㅋㅋ If you have a round-ish face like mine, a layered perm that builds volume at the sides will suit you perfectly.

I've hopped between salons a lot and been let down more than once, so it felt great to finally find a place I genuinely love haha

From the consultation onward, everything was handled kindly, and the service itself was so meticulous that the final result was completely satisfying — this medium-length layered C-curl perm at a Daegu hair salon in Manchon-dong had me thinking, "wow, they're really good here," for the first time in a while. I'll definitely be back for my next haircut :)
