I went with my husband and son over the weekend to Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch. We were trying to figure out what to eat as a family of three and decided on frozen pork belly. From the meat to the self-serve Hangang ramyeon (Han River ramyeon), we ate a hearty, satisfying meal, so let me introduce this delicious pork belly spot near Sangbong Station.

Getting to Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch from Sangbong Station, and parking

Exterior of Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch in the Sangbong food alley

It's about a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Sangbong Station, located in the Sangbong food alley. It's easy to get to by public transit, and it's a great spot for a drink with your meat before heading home.

Street near the paid parking lot across from the restaurant

There's no parking lot at the restaurant itself. We drove, so we used the paid iParking lot right across the street. We parked for about 1.5 hours while we ate, and the parking fee came to ₩9,000. If you're driving, it's worth factoring in the parking cost ahead of time.

Inside the restaurant — good for family dinners and group gatherings?

We arrived right when it opened on a weekend afternoon. The doors open at 2:30pm, and we walked in almost right at opening. The tables are spaced nicely apart and the whole place felt clean and tidy.

Tidy interior tables right after opening

The space isn't cramped — it felt roomy, making it a good option for both family meals and larger group gatherings.

Dining room seating with roomy table spacing

There's storage space under the chairs for bags and belongings, which was convenient — I tucked my bag away there.

We started by ordering 3 servings of frozen pork belly... and ended up adding 2 more, then 2 more again, for 7 servings total.

Grill set up right after ordering

The grill was set up as soon as we ordered

Basic side dish spread including lettuce wraps and scallion salad

A full spread of basic side dishes arrived too — lettuce wraps, scallion salad, seasoned bean sprouts, kimchi, minari (water dropwort), pickled onion and chili, garlic, and sauces perfect for pairing with the meat.

Vegetables and side dishes taken from the self-serve bar

What I really liked here was the self-serve bar. You can grab extra side dishes or vegetables yourself — for a family like ours who eats a lot of vegetables with our meat, this was extremely satisfying. Being able to take as much as we needed without worrying about it was a huge plus 👍👍

Finally, the frozen pork belly arrived. The thing I care about most with frozen pork belly is the thickness — this wasn't the type that's so thin it dries out crispy the second it hits the grill; it had a nice, satisfying thickness that I liked.

Frozen pork belly with a satisfying thickness

Once you put the meat on the grill and cook the kimchi, bean sprouts, minari, and mushrooms alongside it, the vegetables soak up the rendered fat and taste even better.

Meat grilling alongside kimchi and bean sprouts on the grill

I tried a piece cooked to a nice golden brown — it was savory and clean-tasting, and the good thickness gave it a satisfying chew.

I dipped it in sesame oil sauce, and also ate it with the delicious scallion salad

Lettuce wrap with meat and kimchi

I put a piece of meat on lettuce, added kimchi and bean sprouts and chili peppers, and made one big wrap~~ my mouth was so happy. My husband took one bite and immediately said the meat was fresh and delicious, and then he started really packing it in.

Grill piled high with vegetables

In the end, we polished off the first 3 servings quickly, added 2 more, then added 2 more again, for a total of 7 servings, haha. We ended up piling on more and more vegetables as we went.

Pairing frozen pork belly with Hangang ramyeon

Right around when I started craving hot broth while eating the meat, my son shouted for Hangang ramyeon, haha.

Eat a nicely grilled piece of pork belly, then take a sip of the spicy, warm ramyeon broth — it feels like your palate gets completely refreshed. Personally, I'd really recommend the pork belly + Hangang ramyeon combo.

Finishing with self-made fried rice

We were pretty full at this point, but the Super Naengsam Five Commandments on the wall say fried rice isn't optional, so we ate it anyway~~~

Self-made fried rice with kimchi and meat

We chopped up the leftover kimchi, bean sprouts, and meat and fried it all together, turning the leftover ingredients from the meat course into a whole new dish. Personally, I think it would've been even better with more kimchi added in.

Fried rice pressed down and crisped on the grill

Pressing the rice down onto the grill gave it a lightly crisped, savory bottom layer that kept me eating even though I was already full. Finishing off the meat with fried rice made for a truly satisfying meal.

Final verdict — would I go back to this Sangbong Station BBQ spot?

Table after finishing the meal

This time at Super Naengsam Sangbong Main Branch, the frozen pork belly was clean with no gamey smell, the meat was fresh, and I liked that it wasn't cut too thin. The ₩9,900 per-serving price felt easy on the wallet, and being able to freely add vegetables and side dishes from the self-serve bar was the best part ♡

My husband was especially happy with it, so if we ever want Korean BBQ again, I think we'll definitely come back here. If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant near Sangbong Station, a spot for a family dinner out, or somewhere to grill meat and drink casually with friends, this place is worth a visit. If you go, be sure to try the pork belly with Hangang ramyeon plus the fried rice.
