Gangneung is famous as a city where the sea and coffee go hand in hand. On this trip, while walking along Gangmun Beach and down Nanseolheon-ro, I discovered a special café. The name itself feels stylish — Coffee Dripper, a spot often recommended as a Gangneung date course. I'd heard they roast their own beans and have plenty of original signature menu items, so I visited with high expectations. My friend and I stopped by to spend an afternoon enjoying coffee and dessert.

Walking along Nanseolheon-ro, a café with a cozy yet stylish exterior catches your eye. The clean facade really stood out, and the outdoor seating was unique too — the whole vibe made it a fitting date café.
Inside Coffee Dripper: atmosphere, window seats and outdoor tables
Inside, Coffee Dripper felt modern yet cozy, maybe thanks to the greenery visible through the windows. Wooden tables blended with the sleek interior, making it a comfortable place to sit and chat.
The window seats got great light, making the atmosphere even better, and the coffee aroma drifting through the air put me in a good mood. It seemed popular with couples and friend groups, and there was also a solo customer reading a book. With the summer heat behind us, the outdoor seats were popular too.

Decaf americano at Coffee Dripper
First, the decaf americano was clean and refreshing. Being decaf, I could enjoy it without any worry, and the nutty aroma of the beans blended harmoniously with a gentle acidity. It really brought out the coffee's natural flavor — perfect for those who love coffee but want to cut back on caffeine.
Coffee ice cream cup
The coffee ice cream was truly special. Made with freshly pulled espresso, it had a deep coffee aroma, and the smooth, slightly bitter flavor was appealing. It had a far richer flavor than regular ice cream, so I'd definitely recommend it to any coffee lover.
Chocolate croffin and vanilla croffin
The croffins were special — crisp on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. Since it's a croissant baked muffin-style, the texture was unique, and one had vanilla cream inside that was subtly sweet. The chocolate croffin had a light chocolate cream filling, and both were the perfect dessert to pair with coffee.
Overall, the menu lineup was original and the flavors well-balanced. The coffee and desserts complemented each other so well that we forgot to talk for a while, just focused on the taste.
Is Coffee Dripper worth it for a date in Gangneung?
Coffee Dripper was a fitting choice for a special date café in Gangneung. Thanks to their self-roasted beans and original signature menu, satisfaction was high, and the cozy atmosphere made me want to stay a while longer. The prices are reasonable and the menu varied enough that I don't think I'd get tired of coming back. Next time, I definitely want to try the Dripper Latte and the Chodang sundubu pudding. If you're looking for a special café during a Gangneung trip, I'd recommend Coffee Dripper.
