Daegu brunch café where a receipt review earns a free sandwich: Dento

In short

Dento is a new brunch café in the Bongsan-dong alleys of Jung-gu, Daegu, a three-minute walk from Exit 9 of Banwoldang Station. At Dento the writer ordered the signature Five Bite-Size Open Sandwiches (₩1.2) and an iced drip coffee (₩0.4), then received an extra truffle ricotta sandwich through a Naver receipt review event, along with staff guidance to eat the sandwiches from left to right. With red tables and a self-serve bar anchoring a calm room, Dento suits a long chat with friends or a relaxed date.

Today's review is a new brunch spot near Banwoldang Station. Daegu's Bongsan-dong has so many pretty cafés, right? But this one had genuinely cute and delicious bite-size sandwiches unlike anywhere else — this is 'Dento'.

The atmosphere was really nice too, so it's great for unwinding with a sandwich and a cup of coffee, and it would make a good date spot too. Let's get into the review.

Where is Dento, and what are its hours?

Dento is located at 42-5 Bongsanmunhwa 2-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea, 192m from Exit 9 of Banwoldang Station. Hours are 10:00–20:00, with last order at 19:00.

Where to park near Dento in Bongsan-dong

There's no dedicated parking lot. Since it's tucked into an alley, public transit is more convenient anyway. If you do drive, you'll need to use a nearby paid parking lot (like Banwoldang Metro Parking, for example).

It's only about 190m from Banwoldang Station Exit 9, around a 3-minute walk, so I'd recommend taking public transit.

I headed into this new Banwoldang brunch café, greeted by Dento's cute lettering and illustration out front.

Ta-da! My drip coffee and Five Bite-Size Open Sandwiches arrived.

They looked so pretty I couldn't help but take photos!

I joined the Naver receipt review event and got one extra truffle ricotta sandwich.

The Five Bite-Size Open Sandwiches lineup is...

Pan con tomate, avocado and salmon, romesco roasted vegetables, shrimp rémoulade, and truffle ricotta — five varieties, generously put together.

I started with the free truffle ricotta sandwich alongside the coffee. It's small but packs a big flavor — a really satisfying sandwich, and it paired great with the coffee.

For reference, they told me the sandwiches taste even better if you eat them from left to right.

So I tried them one by one in order, and each had its own distinct charm — I loved that I got to enjoy such a variety of flavors.

It felt like a sushi omakase — small and cute, but a satisfying lineup that made for a really enjoyable brunch experience.
