A full spread of clam shabu at Palmi Jogae Kalguksu near Munnae Station

Monday's rolled around again! Why are weekends so short? Still — Chuseok isn't far off, so let's power through together! I went to Munnae Station, still one of the hottest neighborhoods around. My friends and I meet up a lot near Yeongdeungpo Station, and it's close enough that we just walk over to Munnae. Today I'm introducing Palmi, a Korean restaurant in Munnae that's an absolute must whenever there's a friend hangout.

It's a place where you get a mountain of seafood at a low price — meat, kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), and even abalone innard porridge to finish, basically a full course that leaves you stuffed. If you're ever hanging out in Munnae-dong, you have to stop by. Here's my 100/100 satisfaction review.

Palmi Jogae Kalguksu is a clam shabu and kalguksu spot on Dorim-ro 147-gil near Munnae Station. The exterior is so clean and stylish right off the bat, isn't it? There's a tank with fresh clams out front, and the moment you order, the owner personally goes out and brings them in.

Palmi lets you enjoy seasonal seafood to the fullest! The interior is gorgeous too, isn't it? It even gave me a little Jeju Island vibe. There's a restroom inside so you can use it comfortably. It's great for group gatherings too — the tables are roomy and the portions are genuinely huge.

Weekday lunch discount and a free Palmi T-shirt over 100,000 won

Right now at Palmi, if you spend over ₩100,000, you get a nice Palmi t-shirt on top of it all. A work dinner and a free t-shirt at the same time!

At Palmi you'll see the biggest shabu shabu pot I've ever laid eyes on — my jaw dropped the second I saw it. Visit for lunch and there's a discount too. Can't resist a discount, can you?

Two servings of Palmi Clam Shabu Kalguksu in the octagonal pot

It's huge, isn't it??? I was shocked seeing the shabu shabu. My mom loved it too, haha. Live moving abalone! All kinds of clams! Every kind of seafood in one place. And of course, the shabu meat isn't missing either.

Does this much food for this price even make sense? In this era of high prices, Palmi feels even more satisfying. Once you finish the shabu shabu, there's still kalguksu and abalone innard porridge left~~~ Other tables around us were literally giving up, haha.

The octagonal pot piled high with seafood
The full two-serving clam shabu spread

It's two servings but the portion is really enormous. Since it's Palmi, they must've piled everything into an octagonal pot on purpose. You can also choose your broth — regular shabu broth vs. spicy broth.

What to eat first: mussels and abalone, then the beef

For Palmi's clam shabu, once the broth starts boiling you put in the mussels and abalone first. The broth gets richer and more refreshing as it goes!!!

Meanwhile the kalguksu noodles and delicious geotjeori kimchi (freshly seasoned cabbage kimchi) arrived! The kimchi was so good I got a refill^.^ Gotta pace yourself since there's porridge to finish too.

A cold wine slushy to wash it all down too. This is the kind of food that makes you crave a drink. Totally recommend it!!!! Add the shabu meat and let it simmer nicely.

Dip the meat, bok choy, and mushrooms carefully into all three sauces!! It melts in your mouth! The ingredients are so fresh it tastes even better. Absolutely no wilted vegetables in sight!!!!

The clams were well cleaned of sand so they were easy to eat, and not a single one failed to open. Pure freshness — that's Palmi's shabu shabu.

Is this hard clam? Totally my type, haha. The scallops are tasty, the abalone is tasty, the mussels are tasty, but this one's the best!!!

I was already stuffed just from the clam shabu. Imagine how refreshing the broth got by then. I kept spooning it up over and over. Highly recommend as a hangover cure too!!

Finishing the course with kalguksu noodles and abalone innard porridge

Now it's time to add the kalguksu noodles. If you came to a shabu place, you have to finish with kalguksu!!! It cooks down quickly as it soaks up all that flavor.

I was full, but paired with the geotjeori kimchi it all slid right down like magic. The broth is seriously a work of art.....

And there's still more. Last up: abalone innard porridge. Not just plain porridge — innard porridge! I couldn't say no to that!!! The owner made it deliciously for us and all we had to do was wait for it to boil.

The finishing abalone innard porridge

The abalone innard porridge is so nutty and delicious. Even the porridge is special at this Munnae-dong restaurant. We basically ate a full course in this high-price era. Great for family gatherings, friend hangouts, and work dinners alike.

Why Palmi Jogae Kalguksu suits group dining in Munnae

The restaurant is clean and spacious. There's a restroom inside! Prices are affordable and the ingredients are all fresh and generous — I recommend this Korean restaurant in Munnae, Palmi. Make sure to grab the weekday lunch discount too.

This is a restaurant I'll definitely be back at soon with friends — Palmi Jogae Kalguksu. Eating healthy food feels like zero calories~ and my digestion was great that day too.
