Songdo, Pohang Western restaurant: three dishes for two at Plan A

I went to Plan A Restaurant, a Western-style restaurant on the 4th floor of a building facing Songdo Beach in Pohang, where you can eat pasta and steak while looking out at the ocean.

4th-floor ocean-view seats: no wait on a weekday

You get off the elevator on the 4th floor and walk straight in. I visited on a weekday and got in without any wait. The hours are unusual — starting at 11:45, with last order before 20:30. Apparently Plan A Restaurant has been open since 2015. A Pohang old-timer favorite!

There are tables further in too, but pretty much all of them can get the ocean view :)

They use the whole 4th floor, so it's spacious. The tables were spaced well apart, which made for a comfortable meal.

You can see the beach, though the blinds seemed to be down because of the daytime sunlight. How should I put it — the windows were so wide open it felt refreshing 😁 The sea was really clearly visible.

You order using the kiosk on the table :) There were so many tasty-looking menus that I had a hard time choosing 🫠 Honestly I wanted to order everything 🫢 So here's what we ended up picking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dishes came out almost all at once, so there was no waiting between them, which I liked.

Cheese was sprinkled on top, which made it even more savory 👍🏻

The whole shrimp pilaf was pure savory, fragrant flavor! There was no real spiciness to it :D A taste that's just right for kids too.

And the shrimp itself — plump and springy in texture 😋

Plan A chop steak 120g

The chop steak that had me going oh oh oh after one bite. The sauce was sweet and tangy, kind of barbecue-sauce style 👍🏻 The steak pieces were bite-sized too, perfect for popping in your mouth :) Cooked just right — not tough at all, super tender!!!!

I'm a button mushroom lover, and eating the mushrooms together with the meat was genuinely amazing!!!!!!!

The fries were nicely salty and tasty too :D

I thought 120g might not be enough, but with 3 menus for 2 people, it turned out to be just the right amount.

Beef tomato spaghetti 🍅

The sweet-tangy taste of well-ripened tomatoes 🍅 went really well with the beef. In short: 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The pasta noodles were also cooked just right, so it was delicious 😋

And I'd recommend eating the beef tomato spaghetti sauce together with the pilaf!!!!!!!

Is Plan A Restaurant good for a date or for kids?

Eating a meal while looking out at Songdo Beach's ocean view definitely put me in a good mood, which made the food taste even better 😋 It would be a really great spot for a date or an anniversary too! And the kids ate well here too. If you're coming to Songdo in Pohang, I'd recommend having some delicious pasta and steak at 'Plan A Restaurant' :)
