Hapjeong brunch café creamy egg pasta: Seowon Angil Hapjeong

I had something to do around Hapjeong and was looking for somewhere to quickly fill the gap, when Seowon Angil caught my eye. There’s also a Seowon Angil in Incheon, and I’d visited that branch before haha. It was a brunch café with delicious bread and a great variety of meal options, so I got curious when I saw one in Hapjeong and went in. I happened to want a proper meal that day too, so I tried a pasta dish at this Hapjeong brunch café as well ᜊ♡ᜊ

A spacious two-floor brunch café, walked to from Hapjeong Station

I walked over from Hapjeong Station and visited on a weekday afternoon. I’d only been to the Seowon Angil in Incheon, so I was curious what the Hapjeong branch would feel like!!

As soon as I stepped inside, the first floor was incredibly spacious. There were quite a few customers even on a weekday afternoon, but the café itself was so large that it didn’t really feel crowded.

There was a styled display area and an open kitchen on one side! It felt like they had put quite a bit of thought into the interior too.

The tables and seats weren’t all the same, either—each spot had a slightly different mood, so it was nice to choose where I wanted to sit haha.

And I liked the second floor too!! It was much quieter than the first floor, with lots of plants, so it had an overall lush, green feeling haha.

The windows were open, letting the breeze come straight in, and that was honestly so nice. The weather was good too, so just sitting there felt lovely ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

How do you order the café and meal menu?

There’s a QR code at every table, so you can check the menu from your seat.

There are light café options like coffee and tea, plus a wide range of meal options including brunch and pasta, so it seemed like a good place whether you came for a café visit or a meal. There were quite a lot of choices, so I deliberated for a while before picking one pasta and one tea that day!

After ordering, you get a buzzer and wait; when it goes off, you collect your order yourself.

Creamy egg pasta with a thick sauce and rich egg flavor

The creamy egg pasta and blueberry hibiscus tea arrived!! They also brought pickles and a little dish for setting down the tea bag, and the tiny bread on the side was complimentary—they said they had just started serving bread and told me to try one haha.

The creamy egg pasta had a pretty strong egg-and-cheese aroma as soon as it came out, with plenty of bacon piled on top. Even at a glance, the sauce looked wonderfully thick!!

But the egg-and-cheese aroma was quite a bit stronger than I expected. I liked it because I’m the kind of person who adds lots of egg yolk even when making pasta at home, but if you don’t enjoy aromas that can seem a little funky or eggy, this one might be somewhat polarizing.

Once I mixed it well and tried it, the sauce was very thick yet smooth, and the egg flavor came through clearly. The savory bits of bacon throughout were quietly such a good kick too... hahahaha.

You can see how thickly the sauce clings to the noodles, right haha? If you love thick pasta with a rich egg flavor like I do, I think this would suit you really well ˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗

Blueberry hibiscus tea and complimentary bread

The blueberry hibiscus tea I ordered with it was pleasantly tart. It wasn’t overly sweet or sour, so it was just right to order alongside food. Since the pasta was thick and boldly flavored, it paired well for taking sips in between too!

And the thing I ate without much thought but unexpectedly remembered was this bread hahaha. They gave me just one really tiny piece, but when I tried it, the bread itself was delicious?? I kept wondering what this bread was as I ate it. I dipped it in the leftover pasta sauce, and it was so good. At first I had absolutely no thought of ordering bread separately, but after trying this one piece, I thought I should order some bread next time haha.

Seowon Angil Hapjeong... the space was wide, and it was fun looking around because the first and second floors had different atmospheres. More than anything, they have a variety of brunch and meal options as well as café drinks, so it seemed like a nice place when you want to take care of both coffee and a meal in Hapjeong. The creamy egg pasta I had suited my taste too, and I’m curious about the other menu items, so I think I’ll come back again haha.

They also sell sourdough, and I keep thinking about it because the complimentary bread was much tastier than expected... Next time, I’ll have to try other meal options along with some bread too ☆⋆｡𖦹°‧★
