When it comes to Korean Folk Village restaurants, Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch is super famous ~ it's only 3-4 minutes by car from the Korean Folk Village, so it's a great pick to visit after a day out there. The noodles simmered in pufferfish broth are especially amazing — so refreshing and deep in flavor that I keep thinking about it.

How far is Yubok Kalguksu from the Korean Folk Village, and is there parking?
Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch has a large parking area in front and a very spacious interior with plenty of seats. You can enjoy clean, tasty seafood kalguksu in a comfortable setting, and if you order the set menu, you get kalguksu plus spicy stir-fried jjukkumi (baby octopus) and barley rice — the combo was amazing. Especially since the broth is made from pufferfish, the soup flavor is out of this world.

Pufferfish seafood kalguksu set at 15,000 won per person, ordered for two
Order Yubok Kalguksu's signature pufferfish seafood kalguksu set (₩15,000 per person) and you get pufferfish-broth seafood kalguksu along with smoky stir-fried jjukkumi and barley rice — a really satisfying, delicious full spread! So I ordered two servings of the pufferfish seafood kalguksu set. The price felt very reasonable and great value. I heard the jjukkumi seafood chive pancake side dish is also good, but the portion was too much to finish this time, so I couldn't order it... definitely next time.

Is Yubok Kalguksu good with kids? Free baby rice for ages 7 and under
Also, Yubok Kalguksu, a Korean Folk Village restaurant, is a kid-friendly place, making it a great spot to visit near the Folk Village with kids. Baby rice is provided free for children 7 and under, and it's even listed on the menu.

The self-serve bar had extra side dishes, scissors and tongs, and kids' utensils all neatly set up.

First to the table: stir-fried jjukkumi and barley rice
Before the pufferfish seafood kalguksu arrives, you get smoky, spicy stir-fried jjukkumi, along with a bowl of barley rice to mix it with! This was truly a specialty within a specialty. Usually you just get seafood kalguksu, but here you also get this delicious, spicy jjukkumi, so you can enjoy spicy jjukkumi barley bibimbap and then the refreshing broth kalguksu too — I was very satisfied.

Doesn't it look amazing? The spicy, tangy stir-fried jjukkumi is totally addictive, and mixed into barley bibimbap it's so good that the whole bowl disappears in no time.

Clams, sea squirt and oysters in pufferfish broth: the kalguksu itself
Finally, the pufferfish seafood kalguksu, Yubok Kalguksu's signature dish, arrived haha. True to seafood kalguksu form, it comes packed with fresh seafood for a refreshing broth. The base broth is pufferfish, and clams, sea squirt, and oysters are added and simmered in, so you get genuine seafood kalguksu — I loved that.

And at a kalguksu place, the kimchi absolutely has to be good — the fresh geotjeori (unfermented cabbage kimchi) that goes with the hot, refreshing kalguksu was also a real treat haha.

I loaded up the clear, deep, refreshing pufferfish broth with plenty of sea squirt and clams and let it boil away haha.

Order the pufferfish seafood kalguksu set (₩15,000) and you get a full table like this — the refreshing seafood kalguksu is amazing, and the smoky, spicy barley bibimbap that comes with it is so good too. I get why it's famous as a Korean Folk Village restaurant. This is why I highly recommend Yubok Kalguksu as a Folk Village restaurant that's great to visit with kids.

Why Yubok Kalguksu works for a meal with grandparents
Lots of people were there with older family members too, and I could see why — grandparents would love the clean, deep broth kalguksu and the tasty, smoky jjukkumi barley bibimbap just as much.

Of all the seafood kalguksu I've had, Yubok's pufferfish seafood kalguksu had the deepest, most refreshing, most delicious broth. I never knew pufferfish broth could taste this good haha.

Snacks and coffee at the self-serve corner after the meal
After the meal, snacks and coffee were nicely set out too, so I got to enjoy a proper dessert at Yubok Kalguksu Yongin Korean Folk Village Branch.
