Hey everyone, it's Jini! 😊 This time I was craving spicy agujjim (braised monkfish) again after a while, so I visited Haemul Teukbyeolsi Bucheon Station branch, near Bucheon Station.
You know how it is with agujjim — when you're craving it, you really crave it, but once you order, the portion is often so big that two people end up leaving some behind. Well, that's exactly what happened this time — the portion was so generous we couldn't finish it. So instead of just leaving it, we packed the leftover agujjim to take home.
And that's not even the end of it. 😆 After finishing the agujjim, there's always that leftover spicy sauce — and you just can't walk away from that. So in the end, we thoroughly enjoyed some fried rice too.
To cut to the conclusion: this meal went generous agujjim → packed leftovers → finished with fried rice. A really satisfying, well-rounded meal.

Finding Haemul Teukbyeolsi near Bucheon Station
The place I visited was Haemul Teukbyeolsi Bucheon Station branch. It's a seafood restaurant near Bucheon Station where you can enjoy both agujjim and haemuljjim (braised seafood).

There are so many good restaurants around Bucheon Station that it's hard to decide what to eat. But this time, spicy agujjim was the first thing that came to mind, no contest.
Agujjim is bean sprouts and monkfish tossed together in spicy sauce, which makes it great as a full meal and also great for sharing with a group. Personally, when I eat agujjim, I like the crunchy bean sprouts soaked in sauce just as much as, if not more than, the monkfish itself. So I went in with high expectations this time too. 😊
What we ordered: agujjim (braised monkfish)
This time at Haemul Teukbyeolsi Bucheon Station branch, I didn't go for any other seafood dish — I went straight for the agujjim.

When the food arrived, the portion was even bigger than I expected. Agujjim needs to look generous to be really fun to eat, and this one was piled high, so I was pleased from the very start.
The spicy sauce coated the monkfish and bean sprouts beautifully, with a big, appetizing chunk of monkfish sitting right in the center. Since it's served hot, I dug in right away — and honestly, agujjim really is best eaten the moment it arrives.
I put a piece of monkfish on my small plate, piled on plenty of bean sprouts, and added a bit of sauce on top. The spicy, crunchy combination kept me reaching for more.

Spicy sauce piled with bean sprouts
My favorite combination in Haemul Teukbyeolsi Bucheon Station branch's agujjim is definitely the monkfish and bean sprouts together. Tender monkfish and crunchy bean sprouts in the same bite make for a really fun texture.

And the spicy sauce goes so well with rice too. At first I thought, "Can we really finish all this?" given the portion size. But as we kept eating, the plate was somehow getting emptier and emptier. 😂 Still, in the end, the portion won — we couldn't finish it all.

Packing up the leftover agujjim
Even after eating most of the agujjim, quite a bit was still left. I don't really like leaving food behind, so I was a little worried — but thankfully, they let us pack the leftovers to take home.
That turned out to be surprisingly nice. No need to force yourself to finish everything at the table, and you get to enjoy it again at home. Especially with a dish like agujjim, where the sauce is so good, reheating it later works great as a side dish too.
So we neatly packed up the leftovers and brought them home. We left food because the portion was so big, but bringing it home to eat later actually felt like a win! 😊 It's not just one meal and done — you get to enjoy it once more at home.
Fried rice in the leftover sauce: worth it?
But then a problem arose. Even though we were already full from the agujjim, we just couldn't walk past the fried rice 😂 Seeing that leftover sauce after finishing the agujjim naturally makes you think of fried rice. So in the end, we ordered fried rice too.

The taste of rice fried in the spicy agujjim sauce! We were already full after the agujjim, but somehow fried rice is a whole separate stomach. Haha.
Ah... glad we ordered this.
That's exactly what I thought after one bite.

Jini's honest review
On this visit to Haemul Teukbyeolsi Bucheon Station branch, I ordered the agujjim I'd been craving. From the moment the food arrived, the generous portion already had me sold, and eating the spicy sauce, crunchy bean sprouts, and tender monkfish together confirmed that this is exactly how agujjim should taste.
What stuck with me most, though, was that the portion was so big we packed the leftovers home. It's not just one meal and done — bringing it home to eat again meant nothing went to waste, which felt great. But the funny part is that even while completely full, we still couldn't resist that final fried rice. 😂
Finishing with fried rice made from the leftover sauce rounded out a really hearty meal. If you love agujjim, spicy seafood dishes, or you're looking for something to eat with family or friends near Bucheon Station, this place is worth checking out. I left that day very, very full — and having the packed agujjim waiting at home made it even better. 😊
