Sindang izakaya with Kirin draft beer and chuka soba: Lucky Dragon
In short
Lucky Dragon JCB Sindang is a Chinese-style izakaya on the restaurant street a 3-minute walk from Sindang Station Exit 4 in Jung-gu, Seoul. Sitting by the window right after opening, the writer ordered two Kirin draft beers, chuka soba (Chinese-style noodle soup) for 10,900 won and the signature mapo tofu for 14,900 won, and the perfectly foamed Kirin draft plus the mapo tofu served with kkodeul-bap (firm-cooked rice) stood out most. Lucky Dragon JCB earns its reputation as an anju (drinking food) spot, and the writer would return 100%.

Where is Lucky Dragon JCB, the izakaya near Sindang Station Exit 4?
Lucky Dragon JCB is a bar-izakaya near Sindang Station at 1F, 43-8 Dasan-ro 42-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Today I'm posting an honest review of my visit to Lucky Dragon JCB.

It's about a 3-minute walk from Sindang Station Exit 4. This street is a whole restaurant strip, so it's great for handling both first and second rounds in one place.

Inside Lucky Dragon JCB: Japan-style room and open window seats

From the outside it already had that good-vibe Sindang Station izakaya feel, and the interior was so well done I thought it'd make a great date spot (๓´˘`๓)♡

The tables are big and the space is spacious, so groups can visit too!

We came right at opening time so seats were plentiful and we could sit wherever we wanted. The windows were big and gave a nice open feeling, so we grabbed a window seat right away haha

What we ordered: Kirin draft beer, chuka soba and mapo tofu

We really wanted Kirin draft beer first, so we ordered two glasses right away, plus chuka soba — a brothy noodle dish to double as a meal and hangover cure — and the signature mapo tofu!!

Everyone, Lucky Dragon JCB is a Kirin draft beer spot 🍻🍻 The foam ratio was perfect, which made it taste even better!! I took a photo the moment it arrived and took a sip before the foam disappeared — so happy.

Everything we ordered arrived around the same time so we got a nice group shot. I posted it on Instagram stories and got flooded with DMs asking where this was — the visuals are that good (๓´˘`๓)♡

Signature mapo tofu, 14,900 won with kkodeul-bap rice
First, the signature mapo tofu comes with kkodeul-bap (firm rice) too — the value for money is insane 🫢

You can choose the mala (spicy numbing) option when ordering, but my friend isn't great with mala so we went with the regular version. There's a slight mala aroma, so it's a crowd-pleasing flavor that basically anyone can enjoy ( ๑ ❛ ڡ ❛ ๑ )
Oh, the moment I took my first bite of the mapo tofu I was genuinely surprised — totally my style. The spice level was perfect too. An absolute rice thief. Honestly, if it delivered, this is the kind of flavor I'd want to order at home whenever the craving hits — it was that good.

It also went perfectly with gaoliang liquor as a snack. Writing this post is making me want it again 🥹🥹

Chuka soba, 10,900 won with two slices of char siu and a soft-boiled egg
Chuka soba is traditional Japanese-style ramen. I ordered it craving broth, and it tasted exactly like what you'd get at a dedicated ramen spot 😋 My friend goes to a ton of famous ramen places and said this was the best she'd had recently — she even mixed rice into the leftover broth and finished it all haha

The broth is clear but rich, with a really satisfying chewy texture ,, (๑>< ๑)۶ It's great as a hangover cure too. I really hope everyone gets to try it.

There are two whole slices of chashu, plus a full soft-boiled egg!! How is this only ₩10,900? They could easily charge more — the value is incredible.
The owner was kind and the food was great, so I'd 100% come back. I'll be back for a date in Sindang-dong too >_< 🩷
