As the weather cools down, it really feels like fall has arrived.

Where to rent picnic gear for Mangwon Han River Park in autumn

In summer it was too hot to even think about a Han River picnic, but these days the breeze is cool even during the day and it's perfect weather to sit outside, so I went to Mangwon Han River Park for a picnic over the weekend :)

This time, instead of preparing my own picnic gear, I rented what I needed from Picnic List Mangwon (피크닉리스트 망원), which sits right at the entrance to Mangwon Han River Park.

Picnic gear like mats, camping chairs, and tables gets bulky and takes surprisingly a lot to prepare when you actually try to pack it all yourself.

So this time I decided to just rent the essentials and enjoy a light fall picnic by the Han River.

What comes in the 8,000 won Mix & Match 4-item set

The product I used was the Mix & Match 4-item set.

It was ₩8,000, and since you can choose whatever items you want to make up the set, I picked mostly what I knew I'd actually use.

The combination I chose was

• 2 camping chairs
• Bluetooth speaker
• Football

That's what I picked. The rental period was three hours, from 3pm to 6pm.

I arrived at the Han River around 3pm, and with warm sunlight and a cool breeze, it was really perfect fall picnic weather. I set up the camping chairs, put snacks and drinks on the wood table, and turned on some music from the Bluetooth speaker — and suddenly it felt like a proper picnic.

It wasn't hot like summer, but it wasn't cold either, so it was nice just sitting there looking at the river. I think I finally understood why so many people show up at the Han River once fall comes around.

In between, we also played around with the football and moved our bodies a bit, which was a lot more fun than just sitting the whole time.

The park is especially spacious, so it was easy to find a spot without too many people around and casually kick the ball back and forth.

Which four items to pick: wood table and camping chairs

Personally, I felt like choosing the wood table was a great decision. I didn't have to put drinks, snacks, or my phone on the ground, which was convenient, and having a table also made the photos feel a lot more "picnic" than they would have otherwise.

I also rented two camping chairs, and if you're planning to relax for about three hours, I'd really recommend making sure to grab chairs. Leaning back and looking at the river was definitely a lot more comfortable than sitting on the ground for a long time.

With the Bluetooth speaker playing my favorite songs and the cool breeze blowing while I looked out at the river, I didn't need to do anything special to feel refreshed.

What I liked most was that Picnic List Mangwon is right at the entrance to Mangwon Han River Park, so moving after renting was easy. Picnic gear tends to be bulky, and it can be pretty inconvenient if the store is far from the river, but here I could grab everything and head straight over.

The store is also unmanned, so I could use it simply through the kiosk, and the items were neatly organized by type, making it easy even for a first-time visitor.

Why renting beats buying for an autumn Han River picnic

This time, the fall weather was so nice that I decided on a Han River picnic on a whim, and not having to prepare my own gear made the whole thing much easier. If buying all your own picnic gear feels like a lot, and you only visit the Han River occasionally on nice days, renting just what you need seems like a good approach.

Once it gets colder, staying outside for long will get harder, so it's worth taking one fall Han River picnic trip before winter really sets in :) I ended up relaxing far more than I expected, so I want to visit once more before fall is over.
