Sinnonhyeon bakery with seats on every floor and gift wrap: Bakerist
In short
Bakerist Brown is a bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul, filling a whole building from the basement to the 3rd floor. This visit walks through the seating floor by floor — group tables on the 3rd floor, white-toned daylight seats on the 2nd, and a quiet basement good for focusing — then orders the signature black sesame latte and a Gangnam Sand set, gift-wrapped and opened on the spot. Bakerist Brown is a good pick when you want dessert somewhere calm instead of Gangnam's crowded cafés.

Bakerist Brown: a whole-building bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station
Bakerist Brown is a bakery café on Gangnam-daero 102-gil near Sinnonhyeon Station, open Mon–Sun 11:00–22:30. There's no parking, so it's best to use a nearby public parking lot. The whole building is the café, with tasty baked goods and signature drinks in a great atmosphere.

A clean, characterful café with red brick interiors — Bakerist Brown, a salt bread spot among Sinnonhyeon Station bakeries. It's a dessert café with great vibes, done up with vintage interiors and open dresser shelving.

Seats floor by floor, from the 3rd-floor group tables to the basement
Bakerist Brown is a whole-building café from 1st to 3rd floor. Let's start with the 3rd floor first!
A table layout that works for groups and solo seating alike. True to a large bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station, the inside is really spacious. There's a big table suited for study groups too, so large gatherings are possible.
There are restrooms on every floor as well.

The 2nd floor also has a range of seating, from two-tops to group tables. The white-toned interior filled with natural light really stands out too.
Checked the restroom here toooo!
The basement has more of a study, focus-friendly vibe.

What's on the 1st-floor bakery counter: croissants, salt bread, madeleines
On the 1st floor of Bakerist Brown you order and pick out freshly baked items.

The bakery lineup was really varied — from the signature croissants to pastries, salt bread and madeleines, all with a really good look.

They say everything is handmade throughout, using fresh ingredients and the best French butter. Maybe that's why the look isn't the stamped-out factory kind — it's a bit different, a little rough around the edges but with a warm, handmade feel.

Inside the display case they also sell cakes besides the bakery items. And the Gangnam Sand, which makes a great gift too — perfect!

Wanted to eat the Gangnam Sand set, which makes a great gift too, so took a close-up shot for later...

Black sesame latte and the 8 flavors of Gangnam Sand
Ordered the signature black sesame latte and the Gangnam Sand set at Bakerist Brown.

Gangnam Sand comes in 8 flavors, so there's fun in picking and trying a bunch. Above all the packaging is clean, which makes it a really good gift too.
They plated it up nicely and prettily for us.
- Raspberry Blossom (raspberry + white chocolate)
- Sweet Pumpkin Jack (sweet pumpkin + butter)
- Golden Hour (caramel + white chocolate)
- Black Grain (black sesame + cream)
- Rich Ganache (chocolate + cream)
- London Fog (Earl Grey + white chocolate)
- Cream Forest (matcha + cream cheese)
- Peanut Butter Wave (peanut + butter)
Fun to look at and fun to pick through — a sand box with real personality.
Opening the gift-wrapped Gangnam Sand box
When you open the box this is how it's arranged, so I specifically asked for gift wrapping to see what it'd feel like receiving it as a present.

How each Gangnam Sand flavor tasted
Black Grain (black sesame + cream) will win over grown-up palates. The cream was just sweet enough and paired well with black sesame, which can otherwise be a bit plain.

Golden Hour (caramel + white chocolate) had a heavy caramel taste. It's the kind of firm caramel flavor that could get even someone with low blood pressure like me up and moving when my sugar crashes.

Peanut Butter Wave (peanut + butter). I happen to like peanuts, and this was neither too rich nor too light. You can actually see peanuts studded throughout. The cookie itself tasted like Jenny cookies, and unlike straight peanut butter, the peanut spread was soft and sweet.
Raspberry Blossom (raspberry + white chocolate). The tart berry flavor combined with sweetness in a way that doesn't get old — the kind of taste that can chase off an afternoon slump.
When is Bakerist Brown worth a visit?
