In short

Ordered from the tablet on a second-floor table, the truffle white ragu pasta (19,000 won), seafood oil pasta (23,000 won) and popover pancake were shared: the pastas tasted clean and never heavy, and the pancake topped with jamon came in a generous portion. Where is The Mignon Seoul? Between Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam Station

The Mignon sits right in the middle of Gangnam, on Gangnam-daero 102-gil between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station, which makes it a great meeting spot. It has that lazy, wake-up-late brunch café feel, haha.

First floor, second floor and rooftop: seating and mood on each level

The Mignon has three floors total — the 1st and 2nd floors are indoor, and the 3rd floor is a rooftop.

Bright 1st floor seating at The Mignon Seoul

The 1st floor has a bright, peaceful vibe. You can watch the cooking process, and the floor-to-ceiling windows give it an open, airy feel. (Seating ranges from tables for 2 up to tables for 4.)

CatchTable, the reservation app every good restaurant seems to have! Since they sell wine too, the fridge keeps water, wine and drinks nicely chilled.

There's a women's restroom on the 1.5th floor, between the 1st and 2nd floors. Two stalls, love that...

Heading up to the 2nd floor now. It's a bit more spacious, with several tables that can handle group gatherings.

Ordered: Truffle White Ragu Pasta, Seafood Oil Pasta, Popover Pancake!

Pasta dishes served at The Mignon Seoul

Truffle white ragu pasta, 19,000 won

The Mignon's truffle white ragu pasta costs ₩19,000. It's the signature dish, with rich flavor from truffle and white ragu cheese. If it's the signature, there's a reason, right? Haha.

Seafood oil pasta, 23,000 won

The seafood oil pasta is ₩23,000. It's an oil pasta made with fire-seared seafood (scallops, surf clams, shrimp) and anchovies.

They'll bring pickles if you ask! No pasta is complete without pickles :) Each pasta comes in a different bowl too, which is fun to look at.

How did the two pastas taste?

The truffle white ragu pasta has that delicious truffle aroma rising up. Finely chopped, savory meat and white ragu cheese give it huge umami depth.

Pasta is already a decent food for dieting, but having meat mixed in means you get protein on top of that too — even better. What stood out most was how clean the flavor was, with nothing extra, so we kept eating it without getting sick of it.

Popover pancake placed beside the pasta dishes

Then our dessert pancake arrived. The portion is substantial. A perfectly balanced meal of carbs, protein and fat!

Picking up a piece of seafood from the oil pasta

The oil pasta tasted even better for being fire-seared. It's packed with plenty of fresh seafood, so there's fun in picking each piece out one by one. Above all, it's not oily and even has a bit of a spicy kick. It's oddly tricky for a solid everyday dish to actually taste good, but this one delivers — good to eat even with no appetite or while on a diet.

Alright, everyone's got room for dessert, right? Let's cut into the freshly baked pancake!! It's thicker than you'd expect, not a thin pancake at all.

It's delicious with no complaints even paired with arugula, or fruits like banana, or nuts.

A bite of popover pancake topped with hamon

With hamon on top — the ultimate sweet-and-salty combo — you can scrape the plate clean without any uncomfortable heaviness. (Every topping was fresh.)

Is The Mignon Seoul good for anniversaries and wedding-invitation gatherings?

We scraped our plates clean and still wanted more.. The portions are big, but it's so good you end up diving in face-first anyway. The upscale, calm atmosphere would be really nice for an engagement gathering or an anniversary. Husband, you seeing this..? Our next anniversary is here!!!!
