2002 Witch's Arpeggio, a creek-view outdoor BBQ in Namyangju: first look from outside

I heard about a Namyangju restaurant famous for grilling pork belly with a cool creek view, so I went straight over — 2002 Witch's Arpeggio (2002 마녀의 아르페지오). It's also dog-friendly, so I brought my dog along!

We went on a weekday, late in the evening, so there was no wait at all — but it looked like there might be a wait on weekends! There was a sign at the entrance with entry and waiting info.
The most popular seats: outdoor tables right beside the creek

The most popular seats at 2002 Witch's Arpeggio in Namyangju were these outdoor tables — the creek is right there, so you can hear the water flowing, and the valley view is amazing! The weather was perfect too, so it almost felt like a little trip.

Sitting in the fridge was the 48-hour jar-aged tomato-jang pork belly, the result of 24 years of research — you could tell how much care went into it, which made it taste even better. Definitely a standout Namyangju pork belly spot.
Inside 2002 Witch's Arpeggio: private rooms and wide tables

There were also private rooms and spacious tables inside, so it looks like a great option for group gatherings, work dinners, or family meals in Namyangju too!

Table setting and side dishes
As soon as we ordered, they set the table with water, small plates, cups, spoons, and chopsticks.

The side dishes came out right away too — there were a lot of them, and each one was good! The pickled tomatoes in particular were sweet and tangy, which made them even more delicious.
Witch's tomato-jang pork belly, grilled at your table by staff

The Witch's tomato-jang pork belly came out right away, and the staff did all the cooking at the table, so we could just relax and eat.

While waiting for the tomato-jang pork belly to cook, I read through the tips for how to eat it best.

They were also running a review event — if you write a review, they give you a free pot of pollack roe fried rice worth ₩5,000!
What does the tomato-jang kalguksu taste like?
The tomato-jang kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) comes topped with mozzarella cheese, torched right at the table, so it stayed warm and the cheese stretched nicely.

The noodles themselves were unusual and tasty, and there was plenty of tomato and meat in the broth. It had a spicy tomato hangover-pasta kind of vibe — really good! It tasted like a mix of Korean and Western food.

Why we ordered the pork belly half cheese, half plain
Once the pork belly was cooked through, they brought out the mozzarella cheese — but first, they made sure to give us a piece of the tomato-jang pork belly without cheese to try! Even without cheese, the flavor was rich and the meat itself was delicious.

The cheese side and the plain side tasted different, which is why we ordered it half and half — and since there was so much cheese, I was glad we did.

We also had it as lettuce wraps — good on its own, and just as good wrapped up!

Great atmosphere, great food — that was my review of 2002 Witch's Arpeggio, a dog-friendly restaurant in Namyangju.
