While driving toward Songdo Beach in Pohang, I wanted some good pasta and a relaxed meal, so I stopped by Plan A Restaurant. The wide-open sea view through the floor-to-ceiling windows put me in a good mood the moment I sat down. It's a great spot to stop at after driving along Songdo Beach, and easy to pair with a beach walk before or after eating.

Plan A Restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot, but you can use the free public parking lots in front of and behind the building. I used the one behind the restaurant, and since it was close by, getting there was no hassle at all.

Plan A Restaurant sits right across from Songdo Beach, on the 4th floor of the building next to Starbucks, so it wasn't hard to find. Take the elevator up to the 4th floor of the clean, compact building, and the entrance to Plan A Restaurant, facing the sea, appears.

Through Plan A Restaurant's huge floor-to-ceiling windows, the sea at Songdo Beach in Pohang stretched out beautifully. The interior had a clean, tidy atmosphere that made it easy to focus on the meal,

and as the sun slowly began to set, a soft sunset light poured in through the window, adding an entirely different, special mood. That kind of warm, beautiful feeling that seeps right into your heart in the moment.

We arrived right as break time ended, and the vibe was already lively that early in the evening — there were already diners eating.

Looking out the window, you get a full view of the blue sea and the coastline. It didn't feel like just a mealtime — it felt like a little getaway, giving off a relaxed, travel-like mood.

Plan A Restaurant offers a wide range of steaks, pastas, and pilafs. Its signature Plan A/B chop steak comes in 120g for ₩21,000 and 240g for ₩35,000.

For pasta, you can choose according to your taste from beef tomato spaghetti, shrimp soup spaghetti, and shrimp rosé spaghetti. Among them, the shrimp soup spaghetti is one I'd recommend for anyone who likes a spicy, punchy flavor.

If you're looking for something more filling and rice-based, check out the beef pilaf (₩16,000) or whole shrimp pilaf (₩15,000) too. Order a steak, a pasta, and a pilaf to share, and you'll get a hearty, satisfying spread.

This time we ordered the Plan A chop steak, spicy shrimp soup spaghetti, and beef pilaf. With such a varied menu, it's great for a group visit where everyone can pick according to their own taste, and above all, the generous portions were satisfying.

Plan A chop steak, 22,000 won

This was a hearty main dish where you could enjoy the meat together with its side ingredients. It looked delicious the moment it hit the table, and the tender meat paired with the sauce made it a satisfying meal.

The natural savoriness of the meat meeting the salty sauce brought a happy smile to my face with every bite. The portion was generous too, making it just right for a hearty full meal!

Spicy shrimp soup spaghetti, 16,000 won

The dish with the biggest surprise factor that day was, without a doubt, the spicy shrimp soup spaghetti. Even my partner, who doesn't usually go for pasta, took a bite and said it tasted like a good doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) from a meat restaurant — and kept reaching for more, haha.

The spicy, deep broth combined with the savory sweetness of the shrimp gave it a charm clearly different from a typical pasta. It would especially suit anyone who likes non-greasy pasta, or is looking for a spicy soup-based pasta.

Beef pilaf, 17,000 won

The beef pilaf was a hearty dish that anyone could easily enjoy.

The savory fried rice topped with big, tender chunks of beef made for something both light and filling.

The chef seems to be generous with portions, because every dish came in a really substantial size. And yet everything was so delicious that we ended up cleaning out all three plates — the Plan A chop steak, spicy shrimp soup spaghetti, and beef pilaf, haha.

Coming out after a satisfying meal, the sunset was slowly settling over Songdo Beach right in front of us. Watching the sea and sky dye themselves in soft light, I got to savor the afterglow of a delicious meal for a long time.
