Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch A noodle and pork cutlet spot in Seongbok-dong, Suji A wide range of noodles, dumplings, and pork cutlets
I was looking for something to eat for lunch in Seongbok-dong, Suji, and ended up at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Main Branch, which looked like it had everything from noodles to pork cutlet. Here you can enjoy fresh handmade noodles alongside pork cutlet, bibimbap, and mandu (dumplings), all in one place.

Inside Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji: seating and how long you wait
There was a menu board and a Catch Table waitlist screen at the entrance. I went for weekend dinner and luckily didn't have to wait at all.
The place had such a neat, warm atmosphere. The overall wood-tone interior felt cozy, and the tables were spaced comfortably apart, making it look like a great spot for a family meal.

Bright lighting and everything tidied up in every corner made a great first impression. There are also baby chairs on hand.
There's a well-organized self-serve corner for bowls, scissors, tissues, and other things you might need.

What's on the menu at Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji
The menu is genuinely wide-ranging. Because of the name 'jemyeonso' (noodle mill), I assumed it would be mostly a noodle place, but besides fresh noodles, udon, jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles), and buckwheat soba, they also have pork cutlet, bibimbap, tteokbokki, mandu, and other snack-style dishes.

There's also a cool, refreshing chogye guksu (cold chicken noodle soup) as a seasonal menu item. Join their event to grab a branded cup or tteokkkochi (grilled rice cake skewer) too~

Here comes what we ordered ~~~

Fresh noodle set, 15,000 won: noodles plus a pork loin cutlet
First up, the fresh noodle set. Order it as a set and you get noodles plus a pork loin cutlet together. A perfect combo for anyone who feels like a bowl of noodles alone isn't enough and wants pork cutlet too!

I expected something similar to a regular janchi guksu (banquet noodle soup), but the fresh noodles were clearly different. The strands were thin yet smooth, going down more cleanly than regular dried noodles, and the warm broth paired nicely with the fried tofu skin and crown daisy garnish.

I also expected the pork cutlet to be a small side-dish-sized piece, but it turned out thicker and crispier than expected, and it was really good. Honestly, the pork cutlet was the tastiest thing out of everything we ordered! This place is a pork cutlet spot too, haha.

Charcoal-grilled beef brisket bibimbap, 14,500 won
I also wanted rice, so I ordered the charcoal beef short rib bibimbap. It came with a huge variety of vegetables and a generous amount of beef short rib on top, looking pretty hearty even before mixing.

Once I mixed everything together, there was a subtle charcoal aroma coming through from the meat that made the flavor really good! Taking a big spoonful with the beef and vegetables together gave a mix of savoriness, crunch, and a slightly spicy sauce kick all at once — I enjoyed it right to the last bite.

Old-school bibim mandu, 8,000 won
A great side to order alongside everything else — the nostalgic bibim mandu! You know it's rare to find this dish somewhere, right, haha. It's flat mandu (dumplings) eaten together with seasoned vegetables, and it was savory, light, tangy, and sweet all at once — really delicious.

The vegetables were crunchy and matched the texture of the mandu well, and it was also nice to pick up a piece here and there in between bites of noodles. It felt like it paired even better with heavier dishes like the pork cutlet or bibimbap.

Why Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji works for a family meal
With such a varied menu that's consistently tasty across the board, I thought this would be a great spot to go with family. You know how it is — someone wants noodles, someone wants rice, and the kids want pork cutlet. This is a place where it's easy to satisfy everyone's cravings at once. Parking is convenient, the store is fairly clean, and I'd recommend visiting whenever you're in the mood for a variety of menu options!
