A 1–2 minute walk from Sanghyeon Station Exit 2, with 2 hours of free parking
I stopped by Cheongdam Jokbal Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Branch near Sanghyeon Station for dinner with a friend after work. It's a 1–2 minute walk from Exit 2 of Sanghyeon Station on the Sinbundang Line, so it's easy to reach by public transport, and 2 hours of free parking are available in the building's basement lot, so driving there is no problem either.

What Cheongdam Jokbal feels like at 7pm on a weeknight
I arrived around 7pm. True to the peak dinner hour, the place was pretty busy with office workers stopping by for a drink after work and families out for dinner.

Overall the space felt modern and neat, and the tables seemed designed with enough room to lay out the food and side dishes comfortably. With the weather this cool these days, spending time on the outdoor terrace seats looked pretty nice too.

Freshly boiled warm jokbal: clean-tasting, with no gamey smell
Once we sat down, I ordered the signature freshly boiled warm jokbal from the menu.

The side dishes set out after ordering were neat and tidy. Fresh lettuce, perilla leaves, carrots, and cucumbers for wraps were laid out along with dried radish strips, napa cabbage kimchi, garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and salted shrimp. When we asked for more of anything running low, they refilled it kindly, so there was no hassle throughout the meal.

The warm jokbal that came out shortly after was still holding its heat. True to the description that they use same-day-boiled domestic Korean pork trotters, there was no gamey smell at all and it tasted clean. The skin wasn't overly soft and kept a chewy bounce, while the meat pulled apart tenderly along the grain — overall the texture balance was great.

Even dipped lightly in just the plain salted shrimp, the meat's natural savory flavor came through cleanly, and wrapping it up with the bossam kimchi or the crunchy dried radish strips made for a wrap that went down without any greasiness. The spicy-sweet sauce it comes with also broke up the monotony, so my chopsticks kept going back for more.

The free makguksu that comes with every jokbal or bossam order
At this restaurant, makguksu (buckwheat noodles) come free with any jokbal or bossam order. Even as a complimentary item, the portion was generous, and the sauce — not overly sweet, with a subtle tang and a spicy kick — was well soaked into the noodles.

Wrapping a piece of the somewhat rich jokbal with the tangy, spicy makguksu made for a clean finish.

In a tidy, comfortable setting, this was a satisfying meal built around honestly boiled jokbal with no off smell. If you're near Sanghyeon Station and weighing options for dinner with a friend or a relaxed date, this place is worth considering.

Is Cheongdam Jokbal worth it? Final verdict
From the fundamentals of same-day-boiled Korean pork jokbal with no gamey smell to the generous free makguksu on the side, this was a satisfying meal in both quality and value. Thanks to its easy access near the station and clean interior, it's a solid, no-fail choice when you're thinking about a comfortable meal or date near Sanghyeon Station.
