The weekend's coming around again. Eating meat on the weekend is basically a national rule, haha! Today I'm writing up my visit from last weekend to Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch, near Sinjung-dong Station in Bucheon, a place that nails both meat quality and value for money.

The big menu panel on the wall of the stairway shows just how many cuts they have — pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, beef short rib meat, garlic outer skirt, and smoked makchang. It's fun just picking what to eat. The inside is like a playground, haha, so any kind of group gathering works here! It hasn't been open long so everything's spotless, and of course they have high chairs.

What comes in the Bangatgan A Set?
Let me introduce the menu~~~ Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch has drink and beverage prices that catch your eye right away, and the sets are hearty with generous portions. We ordered the Bangatgan A Set.

Side dishes and the unlimited self-serve bar
Once we sat down, the side dishes were neatly set out on the table.

From nostalgic, savory beondegi (silkworm pupae) to a special scallion-soy sauce that's a perfect match for meat, ssamjang, garlic, and tangy-spicy seasoned scallion strips — the basic sides came out generous and well thought out.

Any sides that run low can be topped up easily from the self-serve bar. Lettuce, peppers, macaroni salad, kimchi, pickles — all kept clean and hygienic, which was really satisfying.

Self-serve fridge: 1,500 won drinks, 2,500 won imported beer
The killer strength of Gogi Gubneun Bangatgan Sinjung-dong Station Branch! Drinks and beverages are ₩1,500, and imported beer is ₩2,500. In an era when soju and beer cost ₩5,000, that's the best value ever, right? You just grab them yourself from the fridge — there's no better spot for group dinners or drinking meetups.

Pork neck, belly and jowl plus smoked makchang on the grill
Finally, the main meat we ordered arrived. Thick-cut pork neck, pork belly, and pork jowl, plus savory smoked makchang. Piled high with mushrooms and fragrant minari, the whole spread looked amazing. Doesn't the meat look really fresh?

They grilled the meat, mushrooms, and minari on a hot pan right in front of us, sizzling away. The pan's heat was strong enough to lock in the juices while getting a nice golden sear. Looking at the fully loaded table again, my mouth's watering all over.

One bite dipped in the special sauce, another with grilled mushroom, another wrapped in lettuce topped with scallion strips and garlic, and another wrapped with cold noodles. The set is 1kg 50g, so the portion is huge.
A savory, spicy doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) with a bowl of rice, and we were already full.

Finishing with mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon
After eating meat, cold noodles are a must for the finish. We ordered both kinds. The cool, clean mul-naengmyeon with floating ice slush and the sweet-spicy seasoned bibim-naengmyeon — both were great topped with meat.
