In short
Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black is a premium milk bread (saengsikppang) bakery in the alley between Apgujeong Station and Dosan Park in Gangnam, Seoul. The 6,500 won set brings two slices of bread with three homemade jams, and the bakery also sells the cream-rich D-shaped sikppang and a chestnut loaf. Today I want to share my visit to a premium bakery near Apgujeong Station where you can enjoy luxurious sikppang (Korean milk bread) — Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black, haha^^

I love bread and often go hunting for good bakeries, and this place claims to make premium sikppang with their own recipe that doesn't use a single drop of water, so I went in with high expectations.

What is Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black like inside?
Walk through the Apgujeong alley and you'll be greeted by a calm, sentimental exterior and interior where white and warm wood tones come together. The warm, emotional mood makes choosing your bread take a while.
On a shelf on one side of the store, modern, luxurious square gift boxes reminiscent of designer packaging were tastefully displayed. Seeing those elegant boxes under soft lighting, I immediately thought they'd be perfect for a small luxury treat for myself, or a gift for someone special.

Overall it's a clean, cozy space with no clutter, so browsing and choosing bread felt relaxing the whole time.
Two slices of milk bread with three jams for 6,500 won
I ordered the must-try main set at Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black — the 'two slices of sikppang + three jams' set (₩6,500)! It's a composition you can feel the care in.

Two thick, moist slices of sikppang that look freshly baked, served neatly with three homemade jams — just looking at it made me feel reassured.

The bread here is made without any water in the dough at all — instead they use plenty of premium ingredients like sour cream and fresh cream, which is why the texture is dense yet still feather-soft and moist.
Pairing it with the three homemade jams, each with a sweet, subtle fruit aroma, let me enjoy a variety of flavor combinations without overpowering the bread's own taste.

How does the D-shaped sikppang taste? Fresh cream at its peak
Among the bakery's various sikppang lineup (S-sikppang, D-sikppang, and more), the one that impressed me most was the 'D-sikppang'! You could really taste that nutty fresh cream flavor in it.
I tore off a piece and ate it plain — no jam, no butter — and it was pure nuttiness.

There was no flour smell or dryness at all — the more I chewed, the more that soft, nutty fresh cream flavor and subtle sweetness filled my mouth.

The inside was so soft that it tore beautifully along its grain, and with that living texture intact, it's a premium sikppang that even kids and elderly folks could enjoy comfortably.

Why Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black is worth a stop
The store is located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, near Apgujeong Station and close to Dosan Park.
- Luxurious, calm atmosphere with sentimental packaging
- Dense sikppang made without a drop of water
- If you want to fully taste the fresh cream aroma, both 'D-sikppang' and 'S-sikppang' are highly recommended

One more to order: the chestnut bread
Another thing I want to recommend at Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black is the chestnut bread 👍 It's clearly a different quality and richer flavor from your typical chestnut bread, and it won over my palate as someone who loves chestnut bread^^

If you're looking for a genuinely great sikppang spot near Apgujeong Station or Dosan Park, be sure to experience the charm of sikppang that's chewy on the outside and moist on the inside at Apgujeong Saengsikppang Option Black^^
