Uijeongbu café for a fall leaf-and-chestnut walk with kids: Forerest

I went to Forerest, a large café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, just with my second child Chan. It's a large Uijeongbu café with a really pretty outdoor yard.

Why Forerest for a day out with a child in Uijeongbu?

It had been a while since I had one-on-one time with Chan. Wondering what we should do together, I thought since the weather was nice, it'd be great to go somewhere he could wander around freely and look at things. So this time we went to Forerest in Uijeongbu, where we could eat something delicious and also feel the autumn atmosphere outdoors.

When you're out and about with a kid in Uijeongbu, a place where you can look outside even briefly, rather than just sitting still indoors, is honestly nicer. In that sense, this large Uijeongbu café Forerest was just right that day. Even the entrance had a lovely atmosphere. The space was so nicely decorated that at first glance I thought, this place is no joke.

There was a big table in the middle where a lot of guests were seated, and there were also tables outside — perfect for enjoying a breezy, nice day like this one.

The first room

We went into the room with the fewest people first. Since it was a weekday, it was a bit quiet.

The second room

When we went to get our food, we noticed a great window seat had opened up, so we moved over — such a good call!

The view outside the window had a different mood from the green of summer, an autumn scene that made me feel good just sitting there. Chan hadn't done anything special, but he looked happy the moment we sat down. There's a moment when coming to a café alone with your kid gives even mom a little breathing room, and that day was exactly like that.

I had a glass of orange juice and enjoyed the Basque cheesecake too — Chan ate his cheesecake really well too. Taking bites of the soft, dense cake, sipping drinks, and looking out at the view, this ordinary time felt oddly special.

It's not called a large Uijeongbu café just because it has a lot of chairs — this place was great because the grounds, including the yard, were so spacious. I didn't need to go far at all for this Uijeongbu outing.

Actually, the third room wasn't the last one — there were several more rooms. Being divided into sections like this actually felt comfortable!

After sitting for a while, Chan seemed to want to start moving around, so we decided to take a loop around the yard. It wasn't really a grand walk, just a slow stroll around the café's yard, but doing it with a kid turned it into a kind of play. There were outdoor tables set up outside too, making it a healing spot to enjoy the cool weather.

There were art pieces placed here and there in the yard like objets, and it felt a bit different from your typical café. Even though I visited with my kid, as an adult I still had fun looking around. Every single space seemed to carry the owner's personal taste, so I stopped to look at each one rather than passing by. Chan was busy too, looking this way and that, curious about everything around him. When looking for a café to visit with kids in Uijeongbu, keeping the child from getting bored matters a lot. Today, just walking around and looking at the yard, the time flew by.

Fallen leaves and chestnuts as autumn toys for kids

Chan touched the fallen leaves on the ground, picked them up, and threw them around. For a kid, even something this small seems like a fascinating autumn toy. He kept throwing, touching, and picking them up, having a great time. Watching him, I thought a café isn't a bad choice at all for an Uijeongbu outing, even without going far.

If you're wondering where to go with your kid in Uijeongbu and considering a café, I think a place with an outdoor space like this is a great option. Especially on a nice fall day, it's better to step outside for a bit rather than staying indoors the whole time, to get some fresh air and see the fallen leaves. There were chestnut trees planted, so we could touch the fallen chestnuts too. Little things like this will probably become good memories for a kid.

We just walked around, looked at things, touched fallen leaves, and went back inside the café — that was about it, but Chan had quite a lot of fun. Being able to step outside for a moment when things get stuffy at a café with a kid is a huge advantage. It was a day where we got to feel autumn to the fullest.

Why Forerest is worth visiting with kids in Uijeongbu

Spending one-on-one time with Chan after a while, we didn't do anything too special, but it felt comfortable and nice. We ate delicious Basque cheesecake, had drinks, slowly walked the autumn yard touching fallen leaves, and looked at the art pieces scattered around — writing it all out, we actually did a lot haha.

If you're looking for a café to go to with kids in Uijeongbu, or a place where your child can move around and play, I highly recommend Forerest. Seeing Chan looking so happy made me feel good too. Especially in this nice fall weather, being able to enjoy the outdoor space made it even better. I recommend this café as a place worth visiting in Uijeongbu.
