Gwangalli Korean BBQ with kimchi noodle soup: Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui
In short
Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is a charcoal-grilled pork restaurant in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan. I had pork neck, pork belly, kimchi noodle soup, and steamed egg, all while the staff handled the grilling. Verdict: a filling, easygoing Korean BBQ meal with excellent sides.

Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui (죽림숯불돼지구이), a great Gwangalli spot in Busan. It is near Geumnyeonsan Station Exit 3, right along the main road.

I recommend booking on Naver in advance! It was absolutely packed on a weekend evening... there is a wait!
A spacious, cozy Korean BBQ restaurant in Gwangalli
The interior is spacious, with plenty of room between tables. It was nice and comfortable for a meal. The lighting is cozy too, giving it that atmospheric Korean BBQ restaurant feel! I would recommend it for a Gwangalli date as well.
Iberico specialty cuts and aged fresh pork

Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is a Gwangalli Korean BBQ restaurant specializing in Iberico specialty cuts and aged fresh pork!

You can order single portions of pluma, crocodile meat, intercostal meat, and more. They also have an Iberico set that is great for two, plus a pork belly and pork neck set!

There is a great variety of side dishes too! Especially the kimchi-mari guksu (cold noodles in kimchi broth)... tiny spoiler: it is insanely good ❤️

If you write a receipt review, you can choose among grilled cheese, doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), and kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew).
Neat, well-prepared basic side dishes
The basic side dishes were so neatly prepared too! There were house-made pickles, aged kimchi, bean sprouts, myeolchi-jeot (fermented anchovy sauce), and green onion kimchi. Lettuce wraps do not come out automatically, but they brought them right over when I asked :)

This seasoned bean sprout salad in particular was so good....! I got refills a few times haha. It went perfectly with both the meat and the sides, so I kept reaching for it.

They set up the charcoal right away! The platter came with pork neck, pork belly, and mushrooms. The quality of the meat... it looked seriously good haha.
One bowl of rice disappeared in no time with the doenjang-jjigae that came with it!! It was a rich stew based on blue crab stock, generously loaded with tofu, and such good quality!
A Korean BBQ restaurant that grills everything for you

The best thing about Korean BBQ is, of course, eating delicious meat, but keeping an eye on the grilling yourself can quietly become a worry, right!?
At Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, the staff grill the meat for you, so you can eat comfortably without that concern. The absolute best!!!!

The staff grilled the meat so skillfully that I think it would be an easy place to visit even for people like me who are not great at grilling meat 💛
First, I had the beautifully grilled pork neck...! It seriously melted in my mouth. How was the grilling this perfect too haha. Everyone knows the first bite gets a little dip in salt, right?
Delicious combinations for pork neck and pork belly

Now it was time to eat using these tasty tips haha.

I also recommend the myeolchi-jeot and green onion kimchi combination! Dipping grilled green onion in soy sauce was delicious too. The meat itself was so good that it was tasty even on its own, though haha.

Aged kimchi plus salted scallop sauce. The very best combination, though, was definitely the seasoned bean sprout salad! It is a bit like shredded green onion salad, and it was the best with both pork neck and pork belly!!! You will understand when you try it,, ✨

I wrapped it up in lettuce too~! The four kinds of house-made pickles were all so good as well haha. Royal fern shoots, thumbs up.

Then came the grilled pork belly...! It was so plump and juicy that you could practically call it a thick-cut whole slab of pork belly.. ❤️ Every bite felt too precious...... ㅠㅠ
Steamed egg alongside charcoal-grilled pork

I also ordered steamed egg! The warm, soft steamed egg was just perfect alongside the charcoal-grilled pork~!
Kimchi noodle soup is a must-have side

The cool broth, chewy noodles, and tangy kimchi flavor went so well with the charcoal-grilled pork...❤️ It was so delicious because it felt like it cleared away all that rich, fatty flavor!!!! Kind of like a cross between naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and milmyeon (Busan-style wheat noodles), maybe?!
If you are wondering which side dish to have with the meat, this is the one I really, really recommend!!!!
