Whenever someone suggests having gopchang in Sindang, this is the first place I think of. It wasn’t my first visit either—I’ve already been here several times, and I’m always so satisfied that I came back again after a while!! It was just past 6 p.m. on a weekday evening, but there was already a wait. I could see why this is one of Sindang Station’s signature gopchang spots ✨

Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, close to Sindang Station
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is at 243-1 Dasan-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Hours are 12:00 - 23:00.
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang is just a quick walk from Sindang Station. You can feel the bustling atmosphere from afar, with customers everywhere. Just seeing the waiting line made me think, wow, this place is still so popular.

An outdoor-stall-like atmosphere with the windows open
One reason I love this place is the atmosphere. They throw the windows wide open, so it feels like eating at a 야장 (outdoor Korean drinking stall). Add the smell of gopchang grilling to a cool evening breeze, and it’s the perfect mood for a drink 🍻 Gopchang with that refreshing breeze is seriously a treat!!

My usual gopchang and daechang combination
There was no need to wonder what to order 😆
- 2 servings Korean beef gopchang
- 1 serving Korean beef daechang
- 1 bottle of beer
- 1 bottle of cider
- Kkakdugi fried rice
Order complete. Whenever I come here, I think I almost always get this combination. Gopchang, then an extra order of daechang, then kkakdugi fried rice at the end—that’s how you properly enjoy Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang ✨

Generous mijeolma sauce and three kinds of kimchi
One thing I personally really love: the mijeolma sauce comes in such a generous portion. At other gopchang places, the soy-based sauce comes in a tiny dish and is gone after a few dips, but here it arrives in a big bowl, almost like a basin, which I love. It has minari (water dropwort) and pickled garlic in it, so dipping the gopchang makes it taste clean and deeply savory. Honestly, I come here for this sauce alone 😆

A place where I like the side dishes from the start. The three kinds of kimchi that you can’t miss at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang come out first, and they’re so good grilled alongside the gopchang. They cut through the richness, and you just keep reaching for them.

Korean beef gopchang grilled for you
I’ll set the timer for you~ Five minutes!!!
Another reason I like Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang ✨ It’s not just gopchang on its own—they grill it generously with potatoes, rice-cake slices, bean sprouts, and garlic chives. The stone grill piled high already looks like proof that this is a good restaurant. The staff grill everything themselves, so you can just sit back and wait comfortably 🤍

A spread that includes free steamed egg
I loved this too! These days, lots of places make you pay extra even for steamed egg, but here it comes free with the basics~! Gopchang isn’t exactly cheap, so getting steamed egg as well somehow makes me even happier 😆 A spoonful of fluffy steamed egg followed by a piece of gopchang—this combination is impossible to resist. I think these little touches of service quietly make a huge difference in how satisfied I feel ✨

That day, I ordered beer and cider too 🍺 Taking a bite of gopchang and a sip of beer while the cool breeze came in made me genuinely happy. Why does gopchang after work taste so good? The outdoor-stall mood made it even more satisfying.
Sizzle, sizzle +_+

Crispy yet juicy Korean beef daechang
Let me start with the daechang (beef large intestine). We came for gopchang, but you absolutely have to order daechang too. It was crispy outside and juicy inside, with incredible rich nuttiness. Alternating it with the gopchang let us enjoy their different charms even more.

Two servings of Korean beef gopchang filled with 곱
Today’s main dish: two servings of Korean beef gopchang. The staff grill it for you, so you can eat comfortably. The grill holds not only gopchang, but also potatoes, rice-cake slices, bean sprouts, and garlic chives—just looking at it makes me happy. Even the wait while it turns golden was fun.

A cross-section shot is essential with gopchang. It was packed with 곱 (rich beef fat), so the savory flavor deepened with every chew. It was clean with no unpleasant odor, and the chewy texture was perfect. Now I understand why people wait for it!!!

Finish with kkakdugi fried rice
Even if you’re full, you have to order this. It’s practically an essential course when you come to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang. The crunchy texture of kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) adds to the savory fried rice, so I couldn’t stop eating it. It’s especially delicious topped with the gopchang you saved. A meal with a perfect finish 🤍
The gopchang place I think of in Sindang
- If you’re looking for a great gopchang spot near Sindang Station, I recommend Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang.
- It’s popular enough to have a wait even on weekday evenings!!
- The gopchang and daechang quality was great, and so were the three kinds of kimchi, mijeolma sauce, potatoes, rice-cake slices, bean sprouts, and garlic chives—nothing was missing.
- The outdoor-stall-like atmosphere made it a place I’m satisfied with every time I visit.
