A drinks spot with great vibes that I found in Seongsu — Iridescent. Built on the drink-development experience from Josun Hotel and even earning a Blue Ribbon listing, this place serves drinks that are delicious without being boring. Great menu is a given, but the atmosphere is just as good, making it a place I'd recommend for a Seongsu date.

How to get there: between Ttukseom Station and Seoul Forest

It's located between Ttukseom Station and Seoul Forest. About a 5-minute walk from Ttukseom Station exit 8, and about 10 minutes from Seoul Forest Station exit 5. Reachable from Seoul Forest, Ttukseom, or Seongsu, so it's a good stop if you're out exploring Seongsu-dong.

The exterior is simple and clean rather than flashy. The full glass front makes it obvious it's a café, but the sign isn't big, so it's easy to walk right past. After one visit you'll go 'oh, so this was it?' at the location.

Opening hours and awards

Iridescent is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Being open late made it easy to visit. It's also known for being listed in the 2026 Blue Ribbon Survey, and rated excellent two years in a row by Korea Consumer Evaluation. There are so many Seongsu-dong cafés, but not many with the taste to back it up like this one.

Since the owner is a former Josun Hotel barista, you can see the care put into every step, from prepping ingredients to the moment the drink is served — I felt good the whole time I was there.

Inside Iridescent: mood and seating

Inside, Iridescent has the same calm, modern feel as the exterior. Dark black furniture combined with a gray-and-wood interior gives it a chic yet warm, subtle mood.

The sofa seats look especially comfortable, great whether you come as a couple or alone,

and there are window seats good for quietly sipping coffee while looking outside,

plus a central table for groups, and seats with outlets that looked good for working. The space is well laid out so anyone can come and relax comfortably.

Signature drinks worth reading the menu for

Iridescent says it draws on drink-development experience from a 5-star hotel, and it shows in the many unique signature items. From granitas you'd expect only at a hotel to a carrot ade collaboration with Musinsa — for someone who prefers trying something new over the usual, just browsing the menu at this Seongsu-dong café was fun.

Beyond the signature menu there's a wide range of other drinks too, so plenty of choice.

There were also desserts good for pairing simply, from bakery items like pound cake and croissants to cakes and fruit sando.

Can you bring a dog to Iridescent?

By the way, Iridescent is also a pet-friendly café where you can bring your pet along.

The interior details were nice throughout, and even the bathroom showed thoughtful touches — a Seongsu-dong café worth noting.

Ordering the perilla smoothie and Maldon salt croissant

This time I ordered the perilla smoothie (₩8,500) and the Maldon salt croissant (₩3,000).

I was half-doubtful whether a perilla smoothie could actually taste good, but it turned out surprisingly refreshing and sweet, with the perilla aroma fitting in really well.

The balance between perilla leaf and citrus was so good — they say this is the café that originated the perilla smoothie, and I'd recommend this Seongsu-dong café for that drink alone.

When they told me to wrap the smoothie in the perilla leaf, I was more skeptical than curious, but after one bite of the perilla smoothie wrap I couldn't stop craving it hahaha… I wished I'd had one more leaf...

The croissant was crisp outside and chewy inside, salty like a salt bread, with the cool edge of the salt balancing beautifully with the buttery richness — I really enjoyed this one! I bet it would've paired perfectly with coffee too.

If you're looking for a Seongsu-dong café near Seoul Forest with great atmosphere, great taste, and something special, I highly recommend Iridescent!
