I visited Seongsu a few days ago~ While shopping, I discovered Iridescent! Since it's listed on the Blue Ribbon, I walked in with high expectations. Started off hoping for a cool drink and a delicious dessert!
What is the atmosphere like at Iridescent?
Iridescent is a café on Seoul Forest 4-gil in Seongsu with a black-toned exterior and big glass windows. The first impression the moment the door opens is definitely hip haha
Inside, the combination of black walls and dark wood felt calm yet sophisticated. Thanks to the large glass windows, natural light and streetlight come in, so it never feels stuffy — a nice breezy atmosphere. The monstera plants and hanging greenery placed around the space were also a nice touch 🌿
Seating at Iridescent: window bar, communal table and terrace
Iridescent's seating was varied — window bar seats, a big central table, and inner sofa seats. It seemed comfortable whether you come alone or with a group. The area with a mirror was also a surprisingly good photo spot!
Who makes the drinks and desserts?
The staff were kind and explained the menu well when I was deciding what to order. They said the owner personally squeezes the fruit, roasts the nuts, and uses various herbs to make the desserts.
It turns out the place is run by a barista with a hotel background, so the drinks are high quality. Summer is the perfect season for enjoying a cold drink, and in winter it seems great for a warm tea while soaking up sunlight through the big windows. According to the staff, the seasonal menu changes with each season.
What we ordered on an evening visit
What I ordered at Iridescent that day was the chestnut latte for ₩6,500 and the hojicha milk tea for ₩6,000. If it had been daytime, I would have ordered the famous perilla smoothie, but since it was evening, I picked something else.
The chestnut latte's name was so cute that I chose it without a second thought haha. This place's signature — the original perilla smoothie!! Next time I'll come back for that one, ha.
What is in the bakery showcase?
Next to the bar counter, the showcase actually has quite a variety of baked goods on display — s'more brookies, pound cake, dark chocolate croissants, and cookie croissants. Since I arrived late, the cakes were all sold out... a bit of a bummer.
But once the lights came on for the evening, the atmosphere got even better. The woody-toned interior wall itself worked well as a photo zone.

How the chestnut latte and hojicha milk tea taste
The first sip of the chestnut latte bursts with a nutty chestnut aroma. It's not sweet — the flavor of the chestnut itself really comes through.
The hojicha milk tea had a strong, distinct roasted-tea nuttiness. Being a milk tea, it's soft and nutty, but not too sweet, so I kept wanting to sip it haha.
The portions were generous too, so it was perfect to share between two people. Ordering both and switching between them was fun since we each got to pick whichever suited our mood lol.
Is Iridescent a good Seoul Forest date stop?
Iridescent is right near Seoul Forest, so it's easy to find and great for a walk. It's also a good route to browse nearby concept shops and small goods stores after the café.
Having a coffee and then strolling through the forest path to enjoy some leisure time was a recommended course. Great with a friend, and just as good as a date spot! There may be a wait on weekends, so I'd recommend visiting with some extra time to spare!
That day I sat at an indoor window seat and watched the outside! Next time I want to sit leisurely on the terrace. This visit to Seongsu was a truly worthwhile experience thanks to Iridescent. Both the chestnut latte and hojicha milk tea were exactly my taste haha. This visit made me understand exactly why it's on the Blue Ribbon list!!!
