Jipyeong makgeolli and pork belly bossam at Dangsan's Cheongun Bossam
In short
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a bossam (boiled pork wrap) restaurant a 3-4 minute walk from Exits 3 and 13 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, with outdoor tables out front for open-air evening drinking. On a cool evening the pork belly bossam set arrived with a complimentary jaengban makguksu (cold buckwheat noodle platter) and a bottle of Jipyeong makgeolli, and the moist, clean-tasting pork belly went well with the sweet-spicy noodles. Cheongun Bossam is a solid pick for after-work drinks or a team dinner near Dangsan Station.

Where is Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch, and when is it open?
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a bossam restaurant 3-4 minutes on foot from Dangsan Station Exits 3 and 13. It's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, so it works well for either a lunch meal or an evening drinking session without much hassle.

Lately, as the weather cools down, I keep thinking about eating outdoors after work! Wanting a proper bossam and a glass of makgeolli for once, I went to Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch, known by word of mouth as a Dangsan Station favorite for bossam.
Being so close to the station, it's very accessible whether you're stopping by after work or picking it as a meetup spot. Just avoid the weekday break time of 3-4pm.

Outdoor tables out front: open-air drinking on a cool evening
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch takes up a large space on the ground floor of the building, and out front there are well-arranged outdoor tables that give off a pojangmacha (outdoor tent bar) feel.

With the breeze in this cooler weather, it was perfect for eating outside! I'd recommend this as a spot for outdoor evening dining near Dangsan Station too.

The main menu is of course bossam! They're also known for spicy kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and stir-fried baby octopus, so it's a solid choice for a filling meal or as a drinking snack — a well-rounded Dangsan bossam restaurant.

Inside Cheongun Bossam: window-lined hall that works for team dinners
Stepping inside, the interior felt clean and pleasant, with generous spacing between tables — it felt like a great fit for a dinner spot, group gathering, or company dinner near Dangsan Station.

The store has large floor-to-ceiling windows, so even inside it felt like sitting on a terrace — great for having a drink and enjoying that outdoor evening feel now that evenings are cooling down.

How to pick a Cheongun Bossam set: size, cut and free noodles
Ordering is done via table order! Payment is after the meal.

The set menu structure was great — split into small/medium/large, so it's easy to order based on group size, and getting a free noodle dish added to the bossam looked like great value for money.

Another nice point is that you can choose the pork cut between pork belly bossam and pork jowl. Tender, soft pork jowl is great, but this time I went with pork belly since I hadn't had a properly rich meal in a while!

For the noodles you can pick between dongjuk kalguksu and jaengban makguksu, with an option to swap to a different noodle dish for an extra charge — but makguksu with bossam is truth, so I went with that. And of course, delicious food like this calls for a drink, so I also ordered a bottle of Jipyeong makgeolli!

The basic side dishes were ssamjang, salted shrimp, bean sprouts, chwinamul, and pickled onion — just the essentials, served neatly.

How did the pork belly bossam, jaengban makguksu and Jipyeong makgeolli taste?
The bossam set was set up quickly after ordering! You could tell how moist it was just from the look of it... Being the pork belly cut, the fat-to-meat ratio was just right, and it was odor-free, moist and tender — really easy to eat!

Wrapping a piece of pork belly with the crunchy dried radish strips, salty pickled cabbage, and a perilla leaf, the umami just explodes — clean flavor with no funky smell at all, so it was easy to eat without any burden.

The jaengban makguksu that came alongside was sweet and spicy, and eating it wrapped together with the bossam was an insane combination! The noodles were also chewy and had just the right bite.

Adding a cool, tangy glass of Jipyeong makgeolli on top just melted away all my stress. The portion was enough for two people to eat until full, and it paired perfectly with the drink — I came home from a good drink after a long time!

Next visit: the spicy octopus and bossam combo
Looking at other tables, a lot of people were eating what looked like spicy stir-fried octopus — seems to be another signature main menu item at Cheongun. Since I was so satisfied with the bossam this time, I'm definitely planning to try the octopus bossam combo next time!

If you're looking for a place near Dangsan Station with a great outdoor evening atmosphere for a hearty meal or a drink, I'd recommend Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch, a Dangsan bossam specialist, first and foremost!
