Songpa hanwoo BBQ with plum peach sherbet highball: Sutbul Seonghwa

I went to Seokchon Lake in Jamsil this time! After walking around the lake, I got so hungry! Then I found a restaurant with such a great atmosphere that I wanted to introduce it! Here's the location~!

This is Sutbul Seonghwa, a Jamsil favorite!

Where is Sutbul Seonghwa, what are the hours, and is there a weekday evening wait?

Sutbul Seonghwa is about 10 minutes from Jamsil Station and Seokchon Lake haha! It's open from 11 AM to 1 AM, with a break time from 3 to 5 PM, so keep that in mind! I visited on a weekday evening and got in right away with no wait haha!

They also have a lunch special menu~! Great for office workers coming in for lunch haha!

Inside Sutbul Seonghwa: private rooms, group tables and baby chairs

Here's the interior! It was quite spacious~! From group tables to 4-person tables to private rooms!! Such a variety, so it seemed great for a work dinner or family gathering! And the vibe was so upscale and nice that it'd also be great for a date haha!

They even had baby chairs on hand, so it seemed great for family gatherings too!

They also sell a wide range of alcohol! Maybe that's why there was a really stylish bar table on one side! So many kinds of drinks, including ones meant to pair with beef! Perfect for beef and a drink haha!

What we ordered: Seonghwa combo, spicy hanwoo jjapaguri and a sherbet highball

Here's the menu!! You order using the tablet at your table! After debating what to get, I ordered the Seonghwa combo, which comes with Seonghwa sirloin and wine-marinated short rib! Gotta eat carbs too, right~?!haha So I also ordered the spicy hanwoo jjapaguri hahaha. And delicious beef makes you want a drink, right~?!haha So I ordered a plum peach sherbet highball too!haha So excited~!

Banchan and dipping sauces at Sutbul Seonghwa

They set out the side dishes first!! Such a variety came out! From baek-kimchi (white kimchi) to myeong-i namul (wild garlic leaves) to slushy-icy mu-saengchae (radish salad), so many banchan came together! Every single one had great texture~! Neat and delicious!!

There were also so many kinds of dipping sauces for the beef!lol

The Seonghwa combo, grilled over Chungju oak charcoal

First they set up the charcoal! They brought out traditional Chungju, Chungbuk oak charcoal grilled the traditional way, and the aroma was amazing!! I was already getting excited haha!

First the Seonghwa combo arrived!!haha Seonghwa sirloin plus wine-marinated short rib!! Such a varied plate! Can you see how insane the marbling on the beef is~!!hahaha King oyster mushrooms topped with butter also came along, which made it even more exciting!haha

The staff grilled the first round of meat for us! Watching the meat cook was honestly mesmerizing hahaha

Once it was done, they cut it up for us! Wow, so delicious...!!! I tried it with wasabi, with refined salt, and with the various banchan! Maybe because it's such good-quality beef, it just melted in my mouth!!haha So much flavor and juiciness!!!!

Spicy jjapaguri with snowflake-marbled beef

Next came the snowflake-cut spicy hanwoo jjapaguri!! Honestly I ordered it thinking of the jjapaguri from Parasite, and wow, it looked even more delicious than I expected!!lol There was a ton of beef piled on top of the jjapaguri! Eating the beef with the jjapaguri together — the beef melts in your mouth and the spicy noodles blend in so well!!! Now I get why they wanted to eat jjapaguri in Parasite!lol

Plum peach sherbet highball: the drink for light drinkers

Eating such good beef makes you want a drink!lol The highball I ordered arrived too~! A toast with a drink!!haha this is the life!!lol I honestly can't drink much, so I tend to prefer highballs! The plum peach sherbet highball was genuinely delicious! Cool and sweet like a slushie, and it went so well with the beef haha! Even a lightweight like me could really enjoy it!!lol Highly recommend this one haha

The butter-soaked king oyster mushrooms were also incredibly good haha!

Wine-marinated intercostal rib

Finally, the wine-marinated short rib made its entrance~! The subtle marinade was really delicious! The meat was super tender~! It melted in my mouth! I always thought I preferred pork because beef felt a bit dry to me, but nope...! Turns out I do like beef...!!!

Dessert: dried persimmon cheese rolls and free ice cream

After all that eating I really wanted dessert, so I ordered the dried persimmon cheese rolls and the free dessert ice cream!! They give you the premium Excellent ice cream — you know it, right?!! Excellent is love!!!!lol Something cold after all that food was so welcome haha!?

Then the dried persimmon cheese rolls arrived~!lol They come with candied walnuts, and eating them together, it just kept being nutty and sweet, bite after bite!lol

Being the food professor that I am, I ended up eating the ice cream and dried persimmon cheese rolls together! Wow... this combo is a serious must-try!!!lol The sweetness of the ice cream meeting the nutty-sweet persimmon roll — I just couldn't stop!!!!lol They deserve an award haha! Even dessert was perfect!!!!lol

Which occasions suit Sutbul Seonghwa best?

This time I visited Sutbul Seonghwa, a beef restaurant favorite in Jamsil! Being in Jamsil, the location is great, and unlike a typical BBQ restaurant, the interior is sleek, clean, and upscale, so I'd highly recommend it for dates, wedding-invite gatherings, or all sorts of group meetups! It also seems like a great place to bring someone you want to treat! Above all, the beef was full of marbling and genuinely delicious, so I really wanted to recommend it! The staff were also so kind, which left a lasting impression!!haha I'd love to come back here with my parents next time~!!
