Blue Ribbon Korean BBQ in Dangsan with salad refills: Chodaechang
In short
Chodaechang Dangsan Station is a charcoal-grilled beef offal restaurant on the second floor at the Dangsan Station intersection in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey 2024 national restaurant guide. The Assorted Grill Set B (57,000 won) brought daechang (beef large intestine), teuk-yang (beef stomach) and makchang (beef abomasum), all grilled at the table by a server from start to finish, with a free refill of the tuna corn salad. Aryonghaseyo, it's Oryong and Soryong! I was craving meat with real charcoal smoke, so while hunting for a good grill spot near Dangsan Station I found Chodaechang!

A place where you can properly grill daechang (grilled beef small intestine), teuk-yang (beef stomach lining), and makchang (grilled beef large intestine) over charcoal — worth a visit if you're looking for a daechang spot near Dangsan Station. It's also great with a drink, so I'll introduce it as a Dangsan Station bar option too.

Where is Chodaechang Dangsan Station, and what does it look like?
Chodaechang Dangsan Station sits right at the Dangsan Station intersection, so it was easy to find, and I was already looking forward to it since it's listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey 2024 national guide.

Inside Chodaechang Dangsan Station
Walking in, the interior was bigger and more pleasant than I expected. You might picture a BBQ place as a little cramped and smoky, but it was kept clean overall, so it was comfortable to eat there. Table spacing was decent too, so it looked good for company dinners or group gatherings, and it's a nice atmosphere for meat and a drink at night. Close to the station too, so it's easily accessible for anyone looking for a Dangsan Station bar to hit after work.

Chodaechang Dangsan Station menu and prices
At Chodaechang you can order daechang, teuk-yang, and makchang à la carte, or enjoy them all together as an assorted grill set. If just daechang alone feels like not enough, the assorted grill set letting you try several cuts at once looks like the way to go.

There was also a good range of side dishes — kimchi noodle soup, doenjang stew, doenjang sul-bap, and yangbokkeumbap — plus beer, soju, and highballs, so it really had that Dangsan Station bar vibe! With so many cuts of meat available, it was a place with plenty of options if you're looking for a Dangsan Station BBQ restaurant.

Refillable tuna corn salad and the side dishes at Chodaechang
Before the meat arrived, the banchan (side dishes) were set out first. Of those, the one that stuck with me most was the tuna corn salad. It doesn't look like much, but it's the kind of flavor your chopsticks keep going back to — I ended up asking for a refill haha. Thank you to the kind owner who refilled it for us! The lettuce salad that came with it was tangy and refreshing too, great alongside the fatty daechang. Daechang is delicious but can get a little greasy after a while, and these banchan kept resetting my palate in between — a great combo.

Ordering Assorted Grill Set B, grilled by the server
We ordered Assorted Grill Set B, which comes with daechang, teuk-yang, and makchang together. Out came the daechang, teuk-yang, and makchang, all coated in appetizing seasoning! And once the charcoal came out, things really got started haha. The daechang, teuk-yang, and makchang lined up neatly on the charcoal — the visual alone got my expectations up.
Best part: the server grills it for you! Fatty cuts like daechang are honestly tricky to grill right, but having them grilled from start to finish by staff made it really easy to eat. This is exactly why I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a hassle-free Dangsan Station BBQ restaurant.

Plump daechang (beef large intestine)
The daechang caught my eye the moment it hit the charcoal — it was quite large. The insides were genuinely plump, and I was just waiting for it to cook through haha. The staff grilled it perfectly, right up to that golden-brown, most-delicious moment.

Taking a bite, the fat inside the daechang spread through my mouth — nutty and really creamy. The seasoning in particular was lightly spicy and sweet, cutting the richness while adding real depth of flavor. One bite and you understand exactly why this is called a daechang spot near Dangsan Station.

Teuk-yang (beef stomach) with a great bite
Teuk-yang had a completely different charm from the daechang. Thanks to its layered texture, it had a wonderfully crunchy, chewy bite the more you chewed. Going from soft, nutty daechang to teuk-yang was such a texture shift that I was glad we'd ordered the assorted set. Wrapped with the spicy peppers, garlic, or lettuce that came alongside, it took on yet another feel! With the charcoal smoke on top, this was exactly what you'd want from a daechang spot near Dangsan Station.

Chewy makchang (beef abomasum)
The makchang was also grilled golden-brown, one bite at a time! The outside had a slight crispness while the inside stayed nicely chewy. The seasoning was well soaked in, so it tasted great plain, and eating it with garlic or peppers brought out even more flavor. Daechang for nuttiness, teuk-yang for texture, makchang for chewiness — each had its own charm, and it was fun comparing them all. Ordering daechang alone is fine, but personally, for a first visit, I'd recommend the assorted grill set!

Finishing with doenjang stew and kimchi noodle soup
It would be a shame to finish meat without a proper meal to close things out haha. We ordered doenjang stew, a bowl of rice, and even kimchi noodle soup. The doenjang stew was packed full of ingredients. A spoonful of rice with hot doenjang stew after all that meat — a totally Korean way to end the meal!

And the kimchi noodle soup is a dish I really want to recommend. The tangy, sweet, cool broth felt like it cleaned up my palate after all that fatty daechang. It'd probably be even better in summer, and it was a great way to cleanse the palate after the meat.
Is Chodaechang Dangsan Station worth a visit?
I visited wanting daechang with real charcoal smoke, and Chodaechang exceeded expectations. The daechang was rich with fat and full of nutty flavor, and teuk-yang and makchang each had their own distinct texture, making the assorted set fun to eat. Having the meat grilled for us made everything easy, and the banchan and meal menu were satisfying overall too. If you're looking for a good Dangsan Station BBQ restaurant, or somewhere for a drink after work, I'd recommend Chodaechang. If you especially love plump daechang, this is worth a visit as a daechang spot near Dangsan Station.
