Sharosu-gil date café with non-coffee drinks and muffins: Pulse Line

After finishing a meal with my boyfriend on a date in Sharosu-gil, we decided to grab coffee and rest for a bit. Just a low-key neighborhood date, but hey, café after the meal is basically the rule of dating :) The spot we stopped by that day was Pulse Line Coffee, a place that recently opened in Sharosu-gil.

Where is Pulse Line Coffee, and what are the hours and parking?

Pulse Line Coffee is a new café on Gwanak-ro 14na-gil in Sharosu-gil, open from 8am to 8pm. Most Sharosu-gil cafés tend to open later in the day rather than in the morning, so it was pretty nice to find one open from 8am for people looking for coffee and dessert first thing.

There was space out front that looked like it could fit a car, but it would block the store entrance, so long-term parking there didn't seem feasible. If you're driving, it's probably easier to use a nearby public parking lot! Whenever we come to Sharosu-gil, we use the Moraenae public parking lot nearby — it's right in the center of Sharosu-gil, so it's convenient no matter where you're headed next :)

The heart of Pulse Line Coffee's space is the coffee bar right in view of the entrance. Pulse Line is meant to evoke a single rhythm flowing through coffee — from roasting, to the temperature of the water, to the moment the aroma rises, the whole process of making a cup of coffee expressed as one continuous, rhythmic line.

The first thing that caught my eye stepping inside was the coffee bar. True to the name Pulse Line, there's a design element in the bar that looks like a heartbeat line, which I thought was a fun touch. It felt less like a café simply decorated to look pretty, and more like a space where the brand's philosophy about coffee is woven into every corner.

Why we chose non-coffee drinks at Pulse Line Coffee

Pulse Line Coffee had quite a variety of coffee options, but this time we went with the non-coffee menu. As a place that clearly takes coffee seriously, I was curious about it, but I've been trying to cut back on coffee lately, and since we visited in the afternoon, we went with non-coffee drinks this time instead.

What we ordered:

• Vanilla lemon yogurt
• Two-berry ade
• Handmade crumble pie
• Muffin

How the Bareyo and two-berry ade taste

Bareyo, true to its name (vanilla lemon yogurt), is a drink made with smooth yogurt and a house-blended vanilla lemon base. It was tangy yet mellow, great after a meal, and honestly a better combination than I expected.

The two-berry ade pairs raspberry and blueberry. It had a fresh, refreshing taste that was perfect for the afternoon. I ordered it instead of coffee, and it left my mouth feeling clean and crisp — very satisfying as an after-meal drink.

Signature desserts: handmade crumble pie and caramel muffin

We'd already eaten a full meal, but there's always a separate stomach for dessert, right? We also ordered Pulse Line Coffee's signature handmade crumble pie — a moist cookie-crust base topped with sweet caramel cream cheese filling and a crumbly texture on top. This one was totally my type! You get the soft filling and the crunchy crumble texture together, and I think it'd pair even better with coffee.

For the muffin, I chose caramel from among yellow cheese, mulberry, and caramel — a solid, classic option.

Is Pulse Line Coffee worth it as a Sharosu-gil date café?

I visited because I'd heard it was known for its coffee, but I ended up thoroughly satisfied with the non-coffee menu and the desserts too. What I liked most was how, true to the brand name, the coffee and the space feel tied together by one consistent concept!

If you're looking for a café with good vibes in Sharosu-gil, or one that opens early in the morning, this one's worth recommending. Next time, I think I'll drop the excuse about cutting back on coffee and properly try Pulse Line's coffee menu too :) Pulse Line, aiming to get your heart pumping along with your coffee. I'm filing this away as a new café that's good for a quick rest in the middle of a Sharosu-gil date.
