Busanjin lash lift with natural no-glue curls: Double D

I heard there was a shop in Seomyeon that does great lash lifts, so I went! My lashes aren't especially short, but as I've gotten older, they keep drooping down 😭 I usually only wear sunscreen and no makeup, so I occasionally got by with an eyelash curler + fixer combo, but omg, what a hassle.

So I finally got the lash lift I'd been putting off forever. Why did I not know it could be this convenient until now? And the first shop I visited gave me such a pretty curl that I absolutely loved, so let me share this very satisfied review!

A second-floor shop across from Seomyeon Lotte Castle

It turns out Double D was on the second floor of the building where my gym is—the one I practically live at, collecting attendance stamps. For nearly two years of using the gym on the third floor, I only ever took the elevator, so I had no idea a great Seomyeon lash-lift spot was right on the second floor of the same building 🥹

It's on the second floor of the building directly opposite the main gate of Seomyeon Lotte Castle, and only a three-minute walk from Bujeon Station, so the access is excellent. It's also about a 15-minute walk from Jeonpo's main shopping area. I've lived in this neighborhood for years, yet there are still so many little corners I don't know about.

This is the neat shop interior. There was a waiting area, treatment room, and training room. As it turns out, Double D is a certified permanent-makeup training institution, and the director even teaches semi-permanent makeup at Silla University. She was a total expert! Since it is run by an expert who trains other experts, I couldn't help but trust it even more.

Everything was neatly arranged, and even the music and scent were lovely, which put me in a good mood. At a beauty-treatment shop, the cleanliness and mood of the space where you spend time during the treatment naturally affect how satisfied you feel. Double D's space was comfortable and pleasant throughout, which made it even better.

How long did my first lash lift take?

Since it was my first lash lift, I didn't know this, but it took longer than I expected. It was about an hour, but the treatment bed was so comfortable that I didn't feel even a tiny bit uncomfortable. They kept checking whether I was okay, and the whole process went smoothly.

You check off the curl and style you want, and the director incorporates that into the treatment. I asked for a natural curl that wouldn't feel overdone. Actually, it would be more accurate to say I left it all to her and said, “Please make them pretty!” If, like me, it's your first lash lift and you aren't sure what to ask for, she kindly explains everything, so have a thorough consultation before going ahead.

A comfortable no-glue treatment, even for sensitive eyes

The lash lift I received was done without glue, so I didn't feel any stinging or irritation at all. My skin is quite healthy and not sensitive, but my eyes are a little sensitive, so honestly I was slightly worried. What if my eyes get irritated and I can't bear it, so I have to give up halfway through? (I'm a little worry doll, haha.)

But I had been worrying over absolutely nothing. They used tape to keep my eyes in place during the treatment, but the touch was so delicate, and the entire process felt comfortable overall. Of course, what I loved most was the lash-lift curl~~~

The curl held up after sauna and swimming

I carefully followed the aftercare instructions, used cleansing water that day, and only rinsed the lower half of my face with water. I love saunas and live the life of a gym-going person. Then I went to Jeju after the lash lift for a hotel stay, so I used the sauna, swam, sweated from lots of walking—basically did everything they say not to do—and it is still holding up so well, haha.

I wear eye makeup so rarely that I can count the days on one hand each year, but I put a little color on my eyes for my Jeju trip. Since the lash curl was still alive, I intentionally skipped mascara. You can still see how prettily and firmly lifted the curl is, right? I'm so satisfied, and it really is so convenient that I think I'll be getting lash lifts regularly from now on.
