A Daehangno play is something I think about every now and then! My husband and I have probably seen around 10 Daehangno plays since we were dating, haha. There are so many theater genres, but we decided to try an adults-only play—something we had never dared to do before. Here’s my review of Suspicious PT Shop, a Daehangno play that made for a truly unusual date with friends, a partner, and especially a spouse~!!

Back in Daehangno for the first time in a while! Even though it was the weekend, the area felt a little less lively than it used to, haha. Maybe because the Seoul Fireworks Festival had been the day before, there were comparatively few people in the middle of Seoul, lol.

• No admission for anyone under 19

The Daehangno play Suspicious PT Shop is performed at Nine Theater. They advertise it as Korea’s most explicit play, lol. As it turns out, the actual cast members are adult performers, so it seems they put on the show with an extra level of professionalism.

You can see Suspicious PT Shop by booking in advance or getting tickets on-site. There are lots of ways to book! Tickets are available through Naver, Nol Ticket, and Coupang, so if you’re interested, I think it would be good to book quickly and claim a good seat!

This show is the follow-up to Suspicious Hair Salon, which sparked the craze for adult plays in Daehangno. I heard it features even more explicit and daring scenes than Suspicious Hair Salon.

The waiting area and gym-themed stage

Inside, there was a spacious waiting area. It was nice because you can wait comfortably even if you arrive early for the show!

As you’d expect from a play set in a PT studio and gym, there was fitness equipment in the theater, lol. You can take photos here, too, haha. But knowing it was an adults-only play somehow made me feel a bit embarrassed, so I didn’t exactly take photos openly, lol.

We arrived 20 minutes before the show and were assigned seats in the second row! Apparently, if you get first-row seats, you might also get lucky and win various prizes?!

Because Suspicious PT Shop has the special adults-only concept and isn’t a show just anyone can do, it costs a little more than a typical Daehangno play, haha. But once you see it, you immediately understand why the price is really reasonable, haha. The actors give such passionate performancesㅠㅠ

Photos of the cast were displayed along one wall, and the actors are famous people that those in the know might recognize(?)... That made me even more excited, haha.

Nine Theater seating and the show atmosphere

The theater had a slightly dark setting with a gym-themed backdrop. Because of the show’s theme, there could be some embarrassment among the audience, but the dimness actually put me at ease.

And Nine Theater’s standout feature: the seats are incredibly comfortable. They are nearly as comfortable as premium cinema seats, and there was plenty of legroom between rows, which was so nice. There’s a reason a pricier performance costs more, lol.

What I thought of the show and who I recommend going with

The show finally began!! It was far more amazing than I expected. It’s hard to go into detail, but... it is one astonishing performance after another. The actors’ passion is incredible, lol. At the beginning, they were also amazing at drawing reactions from the audience members who were feeling awkward, helping everyone become more immersed; and as the play went on, they built the growing tension and atmosphere so well.

The actors who gave such passionate performances were wonderful, and I was glad to have a new experience. And one thing is certain: I definitely!! recommend this play to couples who have been together for a little while, married couples, or same-gender friends, lol. For people who are only flirting or have just started dating, it could be a little embarrassing, lol.
