Seongsu burger restaurant with outdoor seats: wasabi mayo shrimp
In short
Bas Burger Seongsu is a casual handmade burger restaurant in Seongsu-dong near Ttukseom Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a third visit, a wasabi mayo shrimp burger combo, a chicken burger, a chili mozzarella cheese bar and craft beer were eaten at an outdoor table, and the wasabi mayo shrimp burger stood out most for its mild wasabi scent and bouncy shrimp. For two people, Bas Burger Seongsu is best with two different burgers ordered and shared.

Trying to figure out what to eat in Seongsu, I suddenly craved a burger and headed to Bas Burger Seongsu. There are so many great restaurants around Seongsu, but sometimes you just want a handmade burger and a beer, you know? Haha.
This time, instead of my usual go-to burger, I wanted something a bit different, so I ordered the wasabi mayo shrimp burger combo. My friend picked the chicken burger, and we also got a chili mozzarella cheese bar and craft beer on the side. Bottom line up front: the wasabi mayo shrimp burger was the most memorable thing I ate that day!

Bas Burger Seongsu: a Seongsu-dong burger restaurant a short walk from Ttukseom Station
The place I visited was Bas Burger Seongsu. It's near Ttukseom Station, so it's convenient to stop by while exploring Seongsu, and also handy when you're looking for somewhere to grab lunch or dinner in the area.
These days, every time I go to Seongsu there are tons of cafés, but when it comes to an actual meal, I always end up wondering where to go, haha. If you like handmade burgers, this is worth a visit at least once! It also seemed like a solid location for anyone searching for restaurants near Ttukseom Station.

Outdoor tables and the atmosphere inside Bas Burger Seongsu
Perfect for this cool, breezy weather! It was great that they had outdoor tables. We ate outside, enjoying the cool breeze.

Stepping inside, the overall vibe was pretty casual. Not too heavy, but not quite a fast-food-joint feel either — just the right atmosphere for relaxed burger eating! Fine for a date, or for grabbing a beer with a friend after hanging out in Seongsu. Personally, for a handmade burger spot, I prefer this kind of comfortable atmosphere over somewhere too dressed up, haha.

How to order at Bas Burger Seongsu: table tablets and the self-bar
There's a takeout-only tablet at the door, and each table also has its own tablet, so you can order comfortably right from your seat!!

The self-bar is stocked with napkins, ketchup, mayonnaise, water, salt, and pepper!

The star of Bas Burger, the fries, are seriously~~ delicious! It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say you could go just for these, haha. Sprinkle on salt and pepper and it's absolutely great.

What two people ordered at Bas Burger Seongsu
What we ordered that day was
- Wasabi mayo shrimp burger combo
- Chicken burger
- Chili mozzarella cheese bar
- Craft beer
That's it! Pretty hearty for two people, haha. Ordering each burger differently meant we could share and try both, and adding the side and beer made for a great combination overall.

Is the wasabi strong in the wasabi mayo shrimp burger?
Starting with the one I was most curious about, the wasabi mayo shrimp burger! Based on the name alone, I first wondered — isn't the wasabi going to be too intense? But once I actually tried it, it wasn't the nose-tingling wasabi flavor I expected.
It's more like a savory mayo base with just a hint of wasabi coming through, which actually helps cut the richness. And since it's shrimp instead of a regular meat patty, the texture is completely different from a typical burger. You get that distinctive bouncy shrimp texture, and paired with the wasabi mayo, it worked surprisingly well together.
Since I already love shrimp burgers in general, this one was my favorite, haha. If you want something a little different from your average burger, a slightly different take on a Seongsu handmade burger, this one's worth trying!

What does the Bas Burger chicken burger taste like?
We also tried the chicken burger. If the wasabi mayo shrimp burger felt a bit different, the chicken burger was definitely the familiar, easy-to-eat flavor! So ordering both together actually gave us a nice balance.
I tend to like trying new things, so the wasabi mayo shrimp was more my style, but if you prefer something safe and familiar, the chicken burger might suit you better. If you're going with two people, I'd recommend ordering one of each and sharing, haha.

Sides at Bas Burger Seongsu: chili mozzarella cheese bar and craft beer
And then the chili mozzarella cheese bar we ordered as a side! Honestly, whenever I go to a burger place I usually just get fries as a side, but this time I wanted to try something different. Just as the name says, it's mozzarella cheese with a chili kick added — savory with a slightly spicy edge. I kept reaching for more of this one, haha. It was even better with beer than eaten on its own. If you like cheese, ordering this as a side won't disappoint!

You can't skip beer when eating a handmade burger, so we ordered craft beer too. A bite of burger, a sip of beer — that combo is always great, haha. The chili mozzarella cheese bar in particular was salty and savory, making it a perfect beer snack. This place seems like a good option for days when you want dinner in Seongsu with a casual beer on the side.

Is Bas Burger Seongsu worth a third visit?
After trying a bunch of different menu items overall, the wasabi mayo shrimp burger was still the most memorable for me. The wasabi flavor wasn't too strong, and it added just the right accent between the shrimp and mayo, so it ended up tasting better than I expected. The chicken burger was more familiar and easy to eat, and the chili mozzarella cheese bar paired perfectly with beer. The burgers alone are fine, but adding sides and craft beer makes it feel like you're really enjoying the full experience, haha.
If you're craving a burger in Seongsu, or looking for restaurants near Ttukseom Station, Bas Burger Seongsu is worth stopping by. Next time I go, I want to try yet another burger :)
