Jung-gu gyudon restaurant with three toppings: Mentsuru City Hall

In short

Mentsuru City Hall Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, 93 meters from City Hall Station Exit 10, popular with office workers and for hangover ramen. Watching sodium, the writer picked gyudon (beef rice bowl) at 11,000 won instead of ramen and added chashu, sous-vide pork belly and egg, then ordered handmade gara-age (Japanese fried chicken) at 7,000 won that ranked as the best they have ever had. With hall and bar seats on the first floor and extra room in the basement, Mentsuru City Hall Branch suits both solo meals and dates.

Gyudon instead of ramen, with three toppings added

Honestly Mentsuru City Hall Branch is a ramen spot so I wanted ramen, but I have to watch my sodium so I settled for gyudon instead — and it turned out to be such a perfect choice~~ Since I was hungry, the orders spiraled... I kept adding sides. Added pork belly chashu, sous-vide pork belly, egg — and it was all so delicious ㅠㅠㅠ This place is genuinely a great restaurant, so if you're heading to City Hall, definitely visit!

What does the handmade gara-age taste like?

The handmade gara-age arrives~ The gara-age at Mentsuru City Hall Branch isn't store-bought — it's made in-house, which made it even more delicious and I loved it! Sometimes when you order gara-age it's dry and clearly frozen, sometimes even a bit smelly, but this is genuinely the best gara-age of my life! Dipped in the mayo sauce, it was twice as good~~
